THOUGHTS IN CHAOS

1-9.5: Interlude: "Better Times" [played between episodes 1 and 2]
In a bar or club (ROGER WILCO'S?), with loud music playing. The sounds of people having a good time. TRENCH stands at the bar when Haley walks up next to him.
Haley
What're you having?
Trench
(Confused)
Uh...
HalEY
"Uh." Haven't heard of that one. Hey, Angel, get this guy another "uh." I'll have the usual.
HALEY
I'm Haley. What's your name?
TRENCH
U--
HALEY
If you say "uh," I'm walking away.
Two zealots, Moloch and Kuldarus, are sparring. They disengage.
KulDARUS
Maintain your guard, Moloch. You attack too brashly.
Moloch
And your timidity will be your undoing!
They reengage briefly before an acolyte enters.
AcolYte
Please forgive me for interrupting. Master Jepok requires your presence at an emergency meeting of the Conclave.
KULDARUS
This does not bode well.

2.
Moloch
Indeed.
Mox and Gurney stand in an old junkyard on some blasted landscape.
Gurney
Well, this sucks.
Mox
Tell me about it, mate.
GuRNEY
All of that work just to end up back where we started.
Mox
Only this time, we're getting paid less and getting what must be the worst posting in the galaxy.
GURNEY
Actually, I had an idea about that...
Trench and Haley are enjoying a morning walk near a stream. They're laughing and having a great time.
HaLEY
You were so scared! It was like you'd never spoken to a woman before!
TrENCH
(Sarcastic)
It was all an act! Perfectly designed to lure you in.
HALEY
Well, nicely done, smooth operator. Six months is a hell of a lot longer than I've stuck around with anyone else.
TRENCH steps in front of Haley and faces her.

3.
TRENCH
Speaking of, I've been thinking. Six months is a long time to keep switching apartments. So uh--
HALEY
Go on.
TRENCH
Why don't you move in?
HALEY
Trent, I love you--
TRENCH
You do!?
HALEY
Of course I do. But I'm not moving in with you.
Awkward pause.
HALEY
On the other hand, you'd be more than welcome to move in with me.
TRENCH
*breathes a sigh of relief*
Gurney and mox stand in an alley as someone walks away.
Gurney
So whaddya think? It's crazy, but if Mad Dog's right, we'll be rich!
Mox
He's as mad as a cut snake, Gurney. It's completely looney.
Gurney
I just said that.
Mox
And what about this Broker bloke? Guy that high up the food chain sounds like someone you don't wanna piss off if you aim to keep on breathin'.

4.
GURNEY
Nobody's seen him in months. He's probably dead. Why else would he abandon a base like this? It'll be perfect, Charlie -— we'll be a stone's throw away!
MOX
We're gonna need an army to break into a place like that.
GURNEY
With Mad Dog's boys and these chuckleheads, we've GOT an army.
MOX
Right, a bunch of burned out ghosts and deadbeat stim junkies.
GURNEY
Don't forget the scientists!
MOX
The guys crazy enough to WANT to be on that planet?
GURNEY
All directly under your command. C'mon, Charlie...
MOX
I'm gonna regret this.
A PROTOSS COUNCIL CHAMBER. Jepok FACES THE CONCLAVE. A HOLOGRAM IS DISPLAYED IN THE CENTER OF THE ROOM.
HOLOGRAM (SEVORAK)
For centuries we have been consumed by petty jealousies and backbiting. No more. The decadence of the Protoss must come to an end. What I have done in Jel'kalas is but a glimpse of the future.
The transmission ends.
CONCLAVE MEMBER
We have received no further communication from Teross.

5.
Jepok
But what of Jel'kalas?
CONCLAVE MEMBER
Our observers arrived there moments ago. Behold what Sevorak has wrought:
A city view. Protoss bodies litter the streets, ruined building are everywhere.
CONCLAVE MEMBER
The city has been leveled. We fear what he intends next.
JePOK
This is madness. We must stop him.
CoNCLAVE MEMBER
The Conclave agrees. Will you lead the attack, Jepok?
JEPOK
I would be honored.
Trench stares out a window, back to Haley.
HALEY
It's the job of a lifetime, Trent!
TRENCH
Working for the Combine?
HALEY
Better than the Confederacy, isn't it?
TRENCH
Marginally.
HALEY
Look, it's not like we're calling it quits. Each dig is only six months.
TRENCH
Only?
Haley walks up close behind him.

6.
HALEY
And we'll talk all the time, I promise. But I can't pass this up.
TRENCH
It won't be the same.
HALEY
Of course not, but it'll still be great. And hey, I was thinking...uh...
TRENCH
Uh? Really?
Both laugh.
HALEY
Maybe when I get back...
TRENCH
If you say uh—
They laugh again.
HALEY
When I get back, maybe we get married?
Mox and gurney's troops carve a swath through zerg across char terrain.
MoX
Gurney?
GurNEY
Yeah, boss?
Mox
I'm going to kill you.
GURNEY
Not if the Zerg get me first.
Mox
Fair point.
Mox kills some Zerg.

7.
Mox
Don't worry, mate, I've got your back.
GURNEY
That's...not very reassuring under the circumstances.
More violence occurs.
GURNEY
Look, we're almost there. They call it Mt. Midnight. It'll be the perfect base. It's-—
Mox
If you say "too easy," I really will kill you.
Sevorak and Jepok (flanked by Moloch, Laurioch, Nannoth, and Taeradun) face each other across a chasm as Protoss battle below.
SEVORAK
En Taro Adun, children of the Conclave. Are you ready to confess your sins and embrace redemption?
Jepok
You are mad, Sevorak! The only sin I see is the genocide you have brought upon our brothers! Your acolytes have been captured and will soon face justice. Your reign of terror is over. Surrender now!
SEVORAK
I have already surrendered, Jepok. Like you and the other members of the Conclave, I once waged a tireless war on our own people, our schemes and machinations driving out the very things that once made us great. No more!
Our purity has been tainted, but the taint can be expunged. We can be redeemed. Our fallen brothers shall be born anew, free of their sins. Purity awaits!

8.
The Eyes hover into view. (maybe a small army of "undead" Protoss)
Jepok
The Eyes! You... you monster! How dare you profane their sacrifice with this puppetry?! This ends now, with my blade in your throat, and your heart in my hand...
Fade to black, start 2-0.

9.
2-9.5: Interlude: Secrets [Plays between episodes 2 and 3]
Moloch and a dark templar stand on the plains of aiur.
MoLOCH
I once lived for Aiur but now, not even my death or a thousand others can stop the homeworld from burning to ashes around us.
DarK TEMPLAR
Word from Zeratul, master. He and Aldaris have ordered the evacuation of Aiur.
MOLOCH
And so the Conclave's arrogance has finally come home to roost.
DARK TEMPLAR
Shall we withdraw, master?
MOLOCH
No. Our mission remains. We travel to Antioch.
Broker stands in front of a bank of monitors, watching the death of the psi cocoon.
BrOKER
Hundreds of thousands of credits. Years of research. Gone. How is this possible?
Scientist
I don't know, sir. The dampening field should have crippled those Protoss vessels.
BROKER
And their Terran allies?
SCIENTIST
Sir —- I'm really not the right person to ask. Perhaps Commander Smith?

10.
Nannoth/Taeradun in prison, raging against the force fields that have held him for centuries.
Nannoth/Taeradun
(Screams of incoherent rage.)
Nannoth
You deserve this fate.
TaeRADUN
SILENCE, PHANTOM!
NANNOTH
Centuries of imprisonment are nothing compared to the horrors you have wrought.
TAERADUN
(Continues to scream incoherently.)
The force fields dim.
NanNOTH
Impossible!
TAERADUN
At last! The hour of my master's vengeance is at hand!
Broker stands in a science bay, facing the same scientist from before.
ScIENTIST
Sir, it seems that the Psi Cocoon's dampening field was... well... dampened.
BROKER
That should not be possible. Who else possesses this level of technology?
SCIENTIST
Well, sir, that's the thing. We've been up for two days straight trying to figure this out. There's only one place the Protoss could have gotten this technology.

11.
BROKER
(Cold as ice.)
From us.
ScIENTIST
*gulp* Yes, sir. Remember how we thought we lost Mt. Midnight to the Zerg? It looks like that wasn't quite true.
Commander smith
We managed to get a team inside the facility. The computers were wiped, but we did recover this:
Monitor shows Mox's assault.
BROKER
A Terran strike force escorting a probe within the walls of Mt. Midnight. I want to know who this man is.
NANNOTH/TAERADUN AND HIS PROTOSS FORCES ARE ARRAYED ABOUT A DIG SITE OF SOME SORT.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Dig! Soon we shall be cleansed of sin and made anew. For Purity!
The sounds of Zealot death fill the air as the Eye raises into view and begins killing the workers. They attempt to attack it but—-
Nannoth/Taeradun
No! Stand down, Children of the Conclave. Embrace oblivion!
Transmission incoming.
acolytE
Master, we are receiving a transmission. The Temple of Jepok is under attack.

12.
NANNOTH/TAERADUN
Ignore it. Let it fade into oblivion along with Jepok's memory.
AcolYTE
Yes, Master. What are your orders?
NANNOTH/TAERADUN
We will begin construction of a new temple here, in the province of Scion.
MOLOCH AND A DARK TEMPLAR HUDDLE IN SHADOWS IN SOME PROTOSS-TYPE PLACE.
DARK TEMPLAR
Master, why have you not told him of Nannoth/Taeradun's treachery?
MOLOCH
The Judicator embraces the archon as if he were Khas himself.
DARK TEMPLAR
You believe that they are in league?
MOLOCH
Perhaps. He could simply be a pawn... or a fool. Either way, he is above all else a child of the Conclave, his mind clouded by their narrow doctrine. We know too well the destruction his kind has visited upon those that dare to think for themselves.
DARK TEMPLAR
What shall we do, master?
MOLOCH
We wait. If he proves untrustworthy, we dispose of him.
DARK TEMPLAR
Understood.

13.
Broker and some lackeys have cornered someone in a dark alley. There's a corpse on the ground.
BroKER
I'm looking for this man. I believe you know him.
Miscreant
N-n-ever seen him before in my life.
The sound of a gunshot.
MisCREANT
*screams*
BROKER
Look again, or I'll have him shoot something important.
MISCREANT
Borno! That's Borno.
BROKER
Tell me about this... Borno.
MISCREANT
He's ex-military, I think. Heard him talking about it once.
BROKER
Ex-military?
MiSCREANT
Yeah. Him and his buddy in the Goliath. That one goes by Gurney.
BROKER
Ms. Smith -- pay this one. And put a bounty on this Borno individual. I want him alive.
Moloch has just killed the cerebrate. Nannoth/Taeradun watches.
Moloch (offscreen)
Ahh, where is your Overmind now, Cerebrate? So much for Zerg immortality.

14.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Immortality?
EYE
*Indecipherable sounds*
Nannoth/Taeradun
Yes. Tell me more.
EYE
*more sounds*
Nannoth/Taeradun
Kelatu!
High Templar (with zergy sound)
Yes, master?
Nannoth/Taeradun
Prepare a shuttle. We travel to Antioch.
MOLOCH AND KHRILLIAN STAND OVERLOOKING THE DETONATED ZERG CANYONS
MOLOCH
Nannoth/Taeradun has escaped from Jepok's prison.
KHRILLIAN
How is this possible?
MOLOCH
Judicator Turmalis has told me of a psionic dampening field recently discovered on Aiur. Its mere presence has disrupted psionic communication and shields across the entire province.
KHRILLIAN
Including his cell within the Temple of Jepok.
MOLOCH
Indeed.

15.
KHRILLIAN
Tell me of this Judicator. Can he be trusted?
MOLOCH
That remains to be seen. He may be under the archon's influence.
KHRILLIAN
What do you suggest?
MOLOCH
A test.
KHRILLIAN
And if he fails your test?
MOLOCH
Oblivion.

16.
3-0: Prologue "Mindfire"
Briefing: Nannoth/Taeradun and the Cerebrate in the catacombs beneath New Antioch (where Moloch will go to kill the cerebrate later).
Nannoth/Taeradun
Rise now cerebrate. You are given new purpose, and through you I will see Sevorak's dream brought to fruition.
ZETHYS
(Should sound angry, and in pain)
WHY DOES ZETHYS RISE AGAIN?
Nannoth/Taeradun
I require the dark templar, Moloch. He holds the secret of the second eye. Take him alive. Kill the rest.
In Game: Moloch and Khrillian receive reinforcements. The Zerg are numerous. Each time a hero reaches 15%, he's teleported away and more reinforcements arrive. Will force that to be Khrillian by having no detectors.
When Turmalis takes too much damage.
KhRILLIAN
Judicator, you are badly wounded. Withdraw!
TuRMALIS
I'm afraid I must concur. I will send reinforcements as quickly as I can.
When Khrillian takes too much damage.
KHRILLIAN
My corsair is badly damaged. Initiating recall.
When Moloch takes too much damage.
MOLOCH
These creatures have bypassed my cloak. Recall me, quickly!

17.
Khrillian teleports away. Freeze combat, pan camera to N/T (with Eye) and Zethys. Particle effect goes off on some nearby eggs.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Behold the power of the Eye, cerebrate. Your Brood Father's evolution is complete--these Dark Templar shall prove little challenge.
Moloch teleports away. Pan back to cerebrate town.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Do not let him escape! Miserable failure of a creature. Suffer!
Screen flashes, N/T blasts the cerebrate. Back to action, where Zerg clean up last Protoss forces.
Turmalis
We cannot hold against this onslaught.
Moloch
These Zerg do seem unusually focused.
KHRILLIAN
There IS a fail-safe in place, to be used as a last resort. Our Dark Templar brethren have installed a massive shield generator beneath the Citadel itself. It is capable of producing a nearly impenetrable field — but it will not last long.
TurMALIS
Do it… and pray it is enough for us to gain the upper-hand.
They activate the shield.
Nannoth/Taeradun
(Raging)
Cowards! Heretics! Huddle behind your shield! It will not save you from my wrath! You WILL be cleansed of your impurity!

18.
3-1: Stop Cut
Briefing
KhriLLIAN
Judicator, the shield will not hold for long.
TurMALIS
And when it falls, so shall we.
MoLOCH
I am surprised that you accept defeat so easily, Judicator.
TURMALIS
The Khala has taught me to face any fate prepared to me with dignity. I will die fighting, but you shall never see despair in my heart. I still remain open to suggestion, if you have any.
MOLOCH
I do. Drop the shield and embrace the Zerg.
Confused pause.
KhrILLIAN
That was obscure even by your standards, Moloch. Are you suggesting we give up and let them overrun us?
MOLOCH
You know me far better than that, old friend. The Cerebrate controlling these Zerg lies in the catacombs below.
TuRMALIS
The same cerebrate you killed on Aiur... and yet it has returned to life here on Shakuras.
MOLOCH
Indeed. An impossibility that I would understand.

19.
TURMALIS
How?
MOLOCH
When I destroyed the cerebrate, I shielded myself from making a psionic connection. This time, I will make contact with it, as Zeratul did with the Overmind. I WILL learn what force compels this creature. With luck, I will also disrupt the Zerg forces under its control.
KhRILLIAN
Holding them off while you make contact in the caverns below will come at a tremendous cost.
MoLOCH
To do nothing is guaranteed annihilation. This may be our only chance.
TURMALIS
I fear you are both correct. Moloch, gather your forces. Khrillian and I will hold against the Zerg for as long as it takes.
KhRILLIAN
I will do my best not to make a liar out of the good Judicator... but do try to make haste, yes? Adun be with you, Moloch.
MoLOCH
And with you, old friend.
In-Game
This mission alternates drawing out the Zerg with Moloch's infiltration. Turmalis and Khrillian must use their limited forces to draw a certain number of Zerg into each area (basically, by attacking, then falling back, then attacking more). The Zerg will be essentially limitless.
Dialogue as they fall back.

20.
Turmalis
This all reminds me of a nightmare I once had. My home was ablaze, the air filled with smoke and the acrid stench of burning flesh as the screams of my loved ones rang out into the night. I was powerless to stop it, my body sinking ever deeper into the ground beneath me.
KHRILLIAN
I am rarely one to openly criticize, Judicator, but if you were trying to raise my spirits just now, you have completely and utterly failed in the attempt.
TURMALIS
You jest.
KHRILLIAN
A useful necessity in situations such as this. I fear we shall live through many nightmares in the days to come.
TURMALIS
I hope that we do.
As they continue.
TurmALIS
When we first met, Moloch looked upon the ruins of the Temple of Jepok and said "This is what their arrogance has cost us."
KhRILLIAN
Diplomatic as always.
TURMALIS
When we came to Shakuras, I believed we would find peace. A new beginning.
KHRILLIAN
And now?

21.
TURMALIS
Now I see what my own arrogance has cost us. I fear that Moloch was correct.
Again, falling back.
Khrillian
Judicator, it has occurred to me that we may not survive this day, regardless of Moloch's success.
Turmalis
The thought had occurred to me as well.
Khrillian
Should I fall, allow me to say that it has been an honor to fight alongside you.
Turmalis
Likewise, my dark brother.
Khrillian
Let me also apologize, for mistrusting you.
Turmalis
Hmm?
During this time, Moloch is infiltrating the catacombs. The first area is very normal. He can, in fact, see the cerebrate's cave from where he enters, but it is far below.
MoLOCH
I can feel the cerebrate below. We must find a path downward.
When he reaches the second area, he finds ancient Protoss ruins:
MoLOCH
These ruins are from the earliest days of the Dark Templar. We have lost so much already. We must save what relics we can.
New bonus objective: collect Dark Templar relics.

22.
As Moloch explores, he faces some environment hazards.
MOLOCH
(As Zerg burst from the ground)
Our foes surround us. This will be no easy task.
MoLOCH
(Entering water)
We must move quickly. Our foes will be able to detect us as long as we remain submerged.
MOLOCH
(An area with falling rocks.)
Beware, these rocks will make short work of even our strongest shields.
Moloch reaches the bridge leading to Zethys.
MOLOCH
The Cerbrate lies within. At last, I will have answers.
MOLOCH
We meet again, Cerebrate. Now--show me your secrets.
Moloch strikes Zethys. Camera goes wonky, lighting effects change. Sound effects get supernatural.
MoLOCH
*howls in pain*
Nannoth/Taeradun
(Offscreen. Seething with animus.)
Moloch.
MOLOCH
You?
Nannoth/Taeradun
Yes. After centuries, my vengeance has finally come.
MOLOCH
How? How is this possible?

23.
Nannoth/Taeradun
The secrets of Jepok, revealed in his temple.
MOLOCH
The Eyes? But Jepok swore to carry the secret to his death!
Nannoth/Taeradun
(Gloating)
So he did! But even Jepok could not fully resist the Eyes' influence. Why else bury the first Eye so close to me?
MOLOCH
(Despair)
He buried the Eye in Scion?
Screen pulses, Moloch screams in agony.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Indeed. And he entrusted you with the location of the second. The Eyes knew this day would come--open your mind!
MOLOCH
*continues screaming*
NannOTH/Taeradun
Yes! Resist! Suffer for your sins.
MoLOCH
*Just a bit more screaming.*
Nannoth/Taeradun
Umbra. Very well.
Screen returns to normal. Moloch has collapsed. Nannoth/Taeradun's Protoss warp in.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Collect the dark templar. I will have use for him.

24.
3-2: GO Time
Outside the citadel: Trench is having a conversation with someone off-screen.
TreNCH
We'll be there at dawn. East side of the citadel.
Trench listens to the call for a moment. (Static sound effect or something?)
TrENCH
Don't worry about the Zerg. They're busy finishing off the Protoss.
TRENCH
Yeah-—I thought you'd like that.
Mox, Gurney, and Rockwell are in jail, and the citadel is under attack. The camera shakes from time to time.
Mox
Gurney--this time I really will kill you.
GuRNEY
Sure, Boss. Get in line.
MOX
I can't believe you'd stab me in the back.
GURNEY
(Disgusted)
Really?
MOX
(Shocked)
What?
GURNEY
(Getting Indignant)
You really didn't see it coming? How much of a dope are you?
MOX
(Getting angry)
A dope?

25.
GURNEY
(Lets him have it with maximum scorn)
A dope. You really thought BOTH of us were getting rich? That's not how this works, buddy. One of us gets rich, the other gets stabbed in the back. I just got there first.
Mox
(Really mad-like)
You piece of shi--
ROckwell
WOULD YOU TWO SHUT UP?
MOX
What?
GURNEY
Huh?
ROCKWELL
Rockwell's sitting here, listening to a couple of morons jabbering like hens and all Rockwell can think is "why aren't the Zerg here yet?" You jabronis think you got it bad?
RoCKWELL
Rockwell just got hired for a job and now he's locked up with a couple of morons waiting to die and all they can do is argue with each other like it actually matters that one of them might be slightly more of AN ASSHOLE THAN THE OTHER.
Rockwell is met with shocked silence.
RoCKWELL
So Rockwell is thinking that you two should know your role and shut your damn mouths.
TreNCH
(As he enters the scene)
Wow. That...made a lot of sense.

26.
Gurney
Well look who it is.
Mox
The only person I might hate more than you, "mate."
TreNCH
Charming. So...anyone looking for a job?
ROckWELL
Rockwell must have heard you wrong.
TRENCH
I've got a proposition for you. Figured it might be interesting.
Mox
A proposition?
TRENCH
Simple: I break you out of here, you help me with a job.
ROCKWELL
Rockwell DEFINITELY heard you wrong. Because as Rockwell remembers it, your candy-ass is the reason he's in this cage.
TRENCH
What a coincidence.
GURNEY
(To Rockwell)
Weren't you the one just yelling at us?
TreNCH
So...?
Mox
I'd rather rot in this jail than work for you, Trench.
Mox spits.
Trench
Gurney?

27.
Gurney
Better than dying.
RockWELL
Rockwell can't disappoint the millions, and millions of Rockwell's fans.
Mox
(Self-righteous)
You guys are really going to work for this asshole after what he did?
GURNEY
(Exasperated)
What choice do we have Charlie? You think the Protoss are just going to give you life in prison? You think they won't put your head on the block?
MOX
Oh. Right... Fine. I'm in.
In game: The quartet must break out of the executor's citadel, which has been overrun by Zerg. It's a labyrinthine map, with Zerg and Protoss fighting all over. The Protoss ignore the Terrans, but the Zerg are hostile.
Gurney
All right, first thing's first. Let's get our gear.
TreNCH
We don't have time for that. I'll get you out of here just fine.
RoCKWELL
Rockwell isn't leaving without his tank.
MOX
I'm sure as hell not leaving Jane behind.
TrENCH
Jane?

28.
GURNEY
He named his suit after his mother.
TreNCH
This just got weird.
GURNEY
Tell me about it.
TreNCH
Annnnyway. Your gear should be in their armory. This way.
THE CHARACTERS ENCOUNTER VARIOUS PARTIES OF ZEALOTS ETC. BLOCKING THEIR WAY. THIS SECTION ADDED TO MAKE GATING LESS OBNOXIOUS.
Near the elevator.
Zealot
Terrans, the nexus is overrun! We will hold here--take the elevator!
Near the ground breakthrough.
Zealot
The Zerg have breached the Nexus floor. They will not make it past us.
On the second floor, with Protoss on both sides.
Zealot
The Zerg strike from both flanks! Flee north while you can!

29.
ONE OF THE HEROES GETS INJURED. Different cues for each.
TRENCH
(For Himself)
I'm hurt bad. Let's see if we can find some first aid supplies in these crates.
(For Mox)
Charlie, you're looking pretty bad. Let's see if we can find some first aid supplies in these crates.
(For Gurney)
Gurney, you ain't lookin' so hot. Let's see if we can find some first aid supplies in these crates.
(For Rockwell)
Uh, Rockwell, you're lookin' a little hurt there. Let's see if we can find some first aid supplies in these crates.
As they walk past the resource stores right at the start.
Gurney
You know, if we're going to be wandering around this place, I'd love to get my hands on those resources.
MOX
Classy as always, Gurney.
GURNEY
Hey, I gotta undo the damage you did somehow! We'll need to knock out whatever generators are powering those shields, so keep your eyes open.
Bonus Objective: Gather Protoss resources.
When they come across a generator later.

30.
Gurney
I bet this thing powers one of those shields downstairs. Let's take it out.
GURNEY
Ah, there's a shield generator. I bet it's powering the other shield. Take it out and we're rich!
Enter the armory area.
Trench
Ok, here’s the armory. Your gear should be around here somewhere.
The group break into the armory. Mox gets his armor.
MoX
Anyone need a light?
RoCKWELL
Where's Rockwell's tank?
TrENCH
Should've been here. Gurney's mech, too. Look, we've gotta go, guys. This job will more than pay for new gear.
RocKWELL
No can do. How can Rockwell be THE most electrifying siege tank pilot in the sector without THE Most Electrifying Siege Tank?
GurNEY
You're going to get us all killed, McFly.
TRENCH
Can we please focus on getting out of here? There's a maintenance bay this way, I think. Maybe they were working on the vehicles.

31.
The group finds leaking vespene in their way.
TreNCH
We're gonna need to get to the elevator if we want to get your gear.
Gurney
Then we're going to have to get past that Vespene leak. That stuff’ll burn our lungs out before we get to the other side.
Mox
(If no armor)
Speaking of burning, that stuff ignites real nice. This sure would be the perfect time for Jane’s Revenge. Let's find my suit, eh mates?
Mox
(With armor)
Speaking of burning, that stuff ignites real nice. This seems like the perfect time for Jane’s Revenge.
Trench
For the record, it’s still weird that you named your suit after your mother.
Mox
She was a hell of a lady. Emphasis on hell.
MOX USES JANE'S REVENGE.
MOX
All clear, let’s move.
They loop upstairs and find a hole in the floor.
Trench
Looks like we can drop down here.

32.
Mox
Sure. What could go wrong?
En route to the maintenance bay.
Mox
Gurney, is that really how you see the world?
GurNEY
How?
Mox
Just a race to see who gets stabbed in the back last? Talk about dark.
GurNEY
(Seriously, Charlie? Ugh.)
Charlie, you were willing to hold planets hostage with a horde of Zerg but you draw the line at stabbing someone in the back?
Mox
That was YOUR idea! YOU talked me into it! No one was supposed to get hurt. An easy payday you said. Sure, I was fool enough to believe you 'cause you saved my bacon in the past and I felt like I owed ya so that's on me... but a man's got to have a code, Gurney.
GURNEY
(Snorts)
RocKWELL
Rockwell has a code, and it says that the only thing those jabroni Zerg are good for is having the smack down laid on them. Once Rockwell is done with this job, he quits.
In the maintenance bay. There's a goliath, but no tank.
GurneY
You must be kidding me. No tank?

33.
TrenCH
Unbelievable.
Mox
Well, Gurney. You might as well suit up.
RockWELL
The Great One is NOT amused.
TreNCH
Hey "General," I've got a question -— do you practice that nonsense?
RockWELL
Practice what?
TRENCH
Nevermind. I'd say that we should forget the tank but—-
RocKWELL
Rockwell isn't going—-
Mox
Anywhere without his tank. We got it, mate.
GurNEY
Any ideas, Trench?
TrenCH
Well, we've been all over. Last place I can think of is the launch bay. Maybe somebody's been joyriding.
RockWELL
Rockwell's gonna kill them. Twice if they scratched the paint job.
They need a clue to go to the third floor.
Trench
You guys get the feeling we’re going in circles?

34.
Rockwell
Rockwell thinks that’s a solid idea. Third floor, candy-asses.
Mox
What just happened?
GuRNEY
You heard the General: third floor it is.
THE PATH IS BLOCKED BY SOME OVERGROWN ZERG EGGS.
MOX
Oh, wonderful. These things are basically indestructible. No way we’re getting through without some serious firepower.
ROCKWELL
Like Rockwell’s tank.
GURNEY
(No mech)
Or my mech. Situations like this are exactly why I set up the nuke vent.
GURNEY
(With mech)
Actually, General, I’ve got this. Situations like this are exactly why I set up the nuke vent on my mech. You guys should stand back.
TRENCH
You did that on PURPOSE?
There's a hole leading down.
Trench
Ok, the vehicle bay should be down there.
GURNEY
Aww, man. I just put new shocks in this thing!

35.
Gurney uses his nuke VENT.
GurNEY
Now that’s what I call carnage!
Mox
That wasn't funny the first fifty times you said it. It ain't funny now.
If they head south, they can find a cute diversion and get a full heal.
Mox
All right, time to fire up the barbie!
They arrive in the launching bay and see the siege tank driving around wildly, killing zerg. It flips over and a zealot crawls out. The zerg kill the zealot. The heroes kill the zerg and then right the tank. rockwell gets in.
RockWELL
FINALLY... Rockwell... has come BACK... to his siege tank.
TRENCH
Great. Can we PLEASE leave now?
Mox
Gladly.
The group finds a forcefield in their way.
Trench
Bad luck: it looks like the forcefield is powered by that generator, but we can’t get at it.
ROCKWELL
(No tank)
If Rockwell had his tank, he could take that thing down just like he did Chucky’s power generators.

36.
ROCKWELL
(Tank)
Rockwell just needs to head to the other side and he’ll take that thing down like he did Chucky’s power generators.
Mox
Yeah, thanks for that, mate.
Rockwell gets in position
ROCKWELL
Open fire!
The heroes get to the citadel's back door and exit into a canyon. They kill a few zerg and round a corner to see several terran dropships and many forces.
Trench fires off two rapid-succession lockdowns.
GurNEY
What the-?
Mox
Trench?
TrENCH
For the record, I happen to subscribe to Gurney's philosophy on backstabbing.
Broker steps forward.
Broker
Well done, Mr. Aster.
TRENCH
That's why you pay me, Broker.
A quick pause for an aside.
GuRNEY
Oh shit.
Mox
You said he was dead!
GURNEY
Nobody had seen him for months!

37.
RockwELL
Rockwell needs to be more selective about his jobs.
Back to Trench and Broker.
BrOKER
Ms. Smith will pay you the agreed-upon sum. I believe this concludes our business.
TrenCH
Much obliged. See you around.
Fade to black.

38.
3-3a: Sins of our fathers
BriEFING: Not sure how to pull this off unless we actually do a cinematic...
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, the Zerg are in disarray. Moloch must have succeeded.
TurMALIS
And yet he is nowhere to be found.
KHRILLIAN
We have searched the catacombs, but have found no signs of him. It pains me to say this, but I believe he is lost.
TURMALIS
He died in a decisive strike for his homeworld. I believe he would take comfort in that.
KHRILLIAN
As do I, but he leaves much work unfinished. Those Protoss we battled bore the mark of Scion.
TURMALIS
Nannoth/Taeradun. I still struggle to believe that such an honored hero could have been anything but.
KHRILLIAN
The stories of his heroism are a fabrication. Taeradun allied himself with Judicator Sevorak during some of our darkest days.
TURMALIS
What PRECISELY did this Sevorak do?
KHRILLIAN
According to my predecessor, Laurioch, Sevorak unearthed ancient Xel'naga technology, two powerful orbs he called "the Eyes of the Xel'naga."

39.
TURMALIS
The Eyes? They are a myth used to frighten Khalai children.
KHRILLIAN
Alas, they are very real, and they should strike fear into the heart of EVERY Protoss.
TURMALIS
It is said they can steal Protoss away from the Khala?
KHRILLIAN
They possess the power to warp both flesh and mind. They do not just steal Protoss from the Khala. They take away all that you were, are, or ever will be. Whatever their original purpose, the Eyes are now a perversion of the ancients' works, an experiment gone terribly wrong perhaps.
Sevorak used the Eyes to turn his subjects into slaves, "hollow-skins" devoid of any will of their own. He called them "pure," but Laurioch called them "abominations."
TURMALIS (angry)
Why did you and Moloch simply not tell me these things from the beginning? So much tragedy could have been avoided...
KHRILLIAN
Believe me, Judicator, I weep for our deception. Our kind has a long history with the Judicators -- little of it good.
KHRILLIAN
Shortly after Moloch first met you, the archon joined your party and Moloch could only see two possibilities at hand: You were either in league with him or under his thrall. For your safety and ours, he did not believe he could trust you with the truth.

40.
TURMALIS
So he bade his time and said nothing until it was too late.
KHRILLIAN
Unfortunately, yes.
TURMALIS
(Scolding)
Your hesitation cost the lives of hundreds of Protoss, including Khorun and Nurohk! They were like my own sons, Khrillian. I can never forgive you and Moloch for their loss.
KhRILLIAN
After this battle is over, I shall accept your judgment, Judicator, whatever it may be. For now, we have more pressing matters to attend to.
TURMALIS
These "hollow-skin" abominations. How can we defeat them?
KHRILLIAN
I once told you that I carry Laurioch's journal, but dared not open it.
TurMALIS
I remember that bit of melodrama, yes.
KHRILLIAN
It was not an exaggeration. Laurioch's journal is no mere book. It is a psionic memory crystal imbued with the emotions of its author. Given the horrors he witnessed, opening it presents true danger to the mind of any Protoss that uses it. To defeat these horrors, however, I now believe there is no other choice. I must attempt it or all shall be lost.

41.
TURMALIS
Very well. Do what you must. I shall hope for your success and safe return.
In game: Khrillian opens Laurioch's journal and is thrust into a flashback. Laurioch faces Jepok, Moloch, etc..
Jepok
We have located Sevorak's army. The time for justice has come. Laurioch, you will command our air forces.
Laurioch
Yes, master. What is my mission?
JEPOK
Sevorak has deployed his heavy assault ships against us. Your mission is to destroy them. We will send you air reinforcements should you need them.
While the player defends the base, they can get bombarded.
JePOK
Brace yourselves, templar! The assault ships are using their siege weapons against us!
After the bombardment ends.
JePOK
Make haste, Laurioch! Sevorak's ships must not be allowed to besiege us any further!

42.
There's a convoy sub-objective.
JePOK
Laurioch, our observers are reporting many supply convoys in your vicinity. If you can disable them, it will surely aid against Sevorak.
Each time there's a convoy, Jepok will mention it. A random clip plays from these:
JEPOK
Laurioch, a convoy approaches your position!
JEPOK
Laurioch, Sevorak has called for another convoy!
JEPOK
Another convoy, Laurioch. Destroy it quickly!
JEPOK
Intercept that convoy, Laurioch!
Bonus Objective: intercept Sevorak's supply convoys. They should come at really inopportune times and be well guarded.
The first ship is destroyed.
Jepok
This ship will threaten us no longer. Laurioch, you must destroy the second soon.
The second ship is destroyed.
JEPOK
You have done well, Laurioch! But one ship remains.
The third ship is destroyed.
JEPOK
The final assault ship has been destroyed. The way is clear.

43.
JEPOK
Return to base, Laurioch. I would have you stand by my side when we strike Sevorak down.
Jepok gathers with the others.
JEPOK
Students, this day will forever be a blight on our history. Sevorak has unearthed weapons from deep within nightmare. Unchecked, he will sever our people from the Khala, thrusting us back into chaos.
JEPOK
I know the revulsion you feel to have Protoss blood on your hands. If I could face Sevorak alone, I would, and so save you from further burden. But I cannot risk failure.
JEPOK
Sevorak's heresy must not be allowed to destroy our people. Join me in this final battle, so that no Protoss need ever strike down another again. May Adun give us strength.

44.
3-3b: Sins of our fathers part 2
There's an introductory section before the big Sevorak fight that's designed to teach the player how to use Laurioch's reflection ability.
JePOK
Sevorak is just ahead. Laurioch—open the door.
LaURIOCH
Yes, master.
Laurioch opens the door and Zealots come out.
Zealot
(There's an asset for this already)
Kill them all!
JEPOK
Laurioch, we will hold off the Zealots. Use your reflection shield to deal with the High Templar.
Once the HT dies, the player proceeds.
JePOK
Well done, my students. Come, it is time to end this atrocity.
We're in Sevorak's hall of madness, and it is terrible. We start by hearing a sermon from Sevorak:
Sevorak
Some of you may remember a time when Purity was still an ideal which the wise and the worthy worked to achieve. Can you remember a time when it was our state of being? Do any of you recall the image of perfection we sought to attain, or even its shadow, or are you among those who are now willfully blind to it? We live in a time when Impurity is not only tolerated, not only accepted, but is in fact celebrated by those who wear their imperfections with pride!

45.
Corruption and Impurity have settled over us like a dark cloud, so pervasive and ubiquitous that many not only know no difference, but cannot even conceive there was anything greater than this banal existence we share right now? We, the Protoss, children of the Xel'Naga, were born with great purpose. How far we have fallen from what we once were!
SeVORAK
Long ago, our creators saw Purity when they gazed upon us. They alone had the vision and knowledge to recognize Purity and they taught us well. Once, with their vision, we knew what Purity was, but now we have forgotten! We have fallen from that ideal and degenerated, and continue to degenerate, to bring ourselves closer and closer to base and mindless vermin and thereby defile the vision and memories of the Xel'naga and our forebears.
Is that all we are? Should we grunt, and gibber, and crawl through the filth and the muck until none who look upon us could ever imagine that we were a great people, let alone Pure? Or shall we look, truly look, at ourselves and SEE ourselves as the Xel'naga once did?
SevORAK
The Eyes of the Xel'naga shall help us see again! Their bright gaze will cut through the ever-present dark cloud that permeates our souls and expunge even the slightest Impurity. Impurity seen will soon be Impurity destroyed. Beneath the bright and shining gaze of the Eyes of the Xel'naga, our people will be CLEANSED! We shall be restored to our rightful state, the Xel'naga's vision of perfection!

46.
SEVORAK
The time draws near!! Prepare yourselves!!
SEVORAK
It is time to open your eyes...
Now we have the moment in the first interlude.
The Eyes hover into view. (maybe a small army of "undead" Protoss)
JEPOK
The Eyes! You... you monster! How dare you profane their sacrifice with this puppetry?! This ends now, with my blade in your throat, and your heart in my hand.

47.
JePOK
Taeradun, Kuldarus, to the left Eye. Moloch, Nannoth, the right. Laurioch, stand with me against Sevorak.
The player controls Laurioch during a boss fight against Sevorak.
The first time Sevorak animates an Archon statue
Sevorak
Behold the power of the Eyes! The stones themselves rise against you!
Other times he does it:
SeVORAK
Rise, statue, and serve me!
The first time a statue is destroyed.
SEVORAK
That is but the first of my servants, Jepok! Surrender and be purified!
The other times.
SEVORAK
Why do you resist, Jepok? Soon your bones will lie here as well.
When Sevorak animates corpses.
Jepok
What madness is this? The dead rise against us?
SEVORAK
Jepok! Your comrades call to you! Join them and be purified!
When we enter the reflection phase.

48.
JEPOK
Sevorak is beyond our reach, Laurioch, use your Reflection Shield!
When the water rises the first time.
Sevorak
To be purified, you must be washed clean!
LauRIOCH
Is that...blood?
JEPOK
Everyone, to high ground!
Subsequent times:
Jepok
Sevorak has opened the fountains again, retreat to high ground!
Generic threats/yelling:
SEVORAK
Your corruption will be cleansed!
SEVORAK
Die! And rise in my service!
SEVORAK
Can you not see that your fate is written?
SevorAK
I will cleanse our people. Starting with you.
After a few moments, the camera pans to Kuldarus and Taeradun.
KuLDARUS
The Eye weakens! Moloch, we shall soon come to your aid!
SeVORAK
I think not. Taeradun.
TAERADUN
Yes, master.

49.
Taeradun hits Kuldarus with a psi storm.
MoLOCH
No!
JePOK
Traitor!
TAERADUN
It is you who are the traitor, Jepok! The pettiness and corruption of your Conclave have destroyed our noble race -- the time for your penance has come.
Moloch, enraged, strikes down the Eye and charges Taeradun. Taeradun spawns hallucinations, psi storms, etc. Some Protoss ships come crashing down, maybe. The eye begins wreaking havoc until Nannoth intervenes.
NanNOTH
Your treachery ends now!
TaERADUN
What are you doing!?
NANNOTH
What I must.
Nannoth grabs Taeradun.
TaerADUN
No!
They form an archon and strike down the eye. All parties converge on Sevorak.
NanNOTH/Taeradun
Sevorak! We would have words with you.
Fade to black.
Laurioch and Jepok stand alone in some sort of protoss lab. The eyes lay dormant in front of them.
JEPOK
Sentiment has always been my greatest weakness.

50.
LaURIOCH
I understand your actions. Nannoth and Taeradun were your friends and students.
JEPOK
Is an eternity of imprisonment truly more lenient than execution?
LAURIOCH
Who can say? Perhaps, given time, Nannoth will retake dominance and join us once more in the light.
JEPOK
Perhaps so. Regardless, we have other matters to address.
LAURIOCH
The Eyes begin to stir.
JEPOK
Yes. I suppose it should be little surprise that our makers' works exceed our abilities to destroy them.
LAURIOCH
What will you do?
JEPOK
Bury them. I will hide the first and you the second. But first, I plan to make use of them.
LauRIOCH
Make use!?
JEPOK
Yes. No matter the care we take, we must accept that they could one day fall into the wrong hands.
LAURIOCH
And how will using them prevent this?
Jepok
It will not, but we may prepare ourselves. I will use the Eyes to create a weapon to stand against them.

51.
LAURIOCH
But they cannot be destroyed!
JEPOK
No, but they can be disabled, as we saw. Perhaps next time at a lesser cost. It will require the powers of the Eyes themselves, as well as the powers of our high templar... and the dark templar.
LAURIOCH
The dark templar!? This is heresy. And how could you hope to contact them?
JEPOK
(Sadly)
Laurioch, my friend, this is why I called upon you. I fear I must ask you a hard thing.
Laurioch (as a dark templar) and jepok stand in the same lab. Four stasis cells stand before them. [there's a lot of standing here.]
Jepok
It is done.
LauRIOCH
And so my exile begins. I will take these and the Eyes to locations known only to myself. When the time comes, I will pass on the knowledge to my successor.
JEPOK
It is a heavy burden I place upon you. These secrets cannot be held by the high templar--there is too much bickering here, too much politics.
LAURIOCH
What will you do?

52.
JEPOK
Withdraw to hermitage, away from the Khala. I will take my secrets to the grave. I cannot risk their recording.
LAURIOCH
En Taro Adun, old friend. And farewell.
JEPOK
En Taro Adun.
We return to Khrillian and Turmalis.
KHRILLIAN
The second Eye. Jepok hid it on a world he called Umbra.
TURMALIS
Umbra? I know of it. A dead moon on the outer reaches that was on the list of worlds to be surveyed by Koronis' Expeditionary Force. We must go at once.
KhRILLIAN
Wait, there is more. Jepok also prepared a weapon to defend against the Eyes. Laurioch placed them on a world with no name. I can take us there.
TURMALIS
The attack by Nannoth/Taeradun's forces has greatly weakened us. We cannot mount expeditions to both places and still defend New Antioch.
KHRILLIAN
Then I suggest we seek out Jepok's weapon first. We shall need it should we face the second Eye.
TURMALIS
Very well. Lead the way.

53.
3-4: In Durance vile
Moloch is stuck in a holding cell on a protoss vessel. Nannoth/Taeradun stands in front of him.
Nannoth/Taeradun
So, heretic, how goes your vengeance?
Moloch is silent.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Nothing to say? Shall I recount for you your failures?
Nannoth/Taeradun
You failed to destroy the Eyes. You failed to protect your precious Kuldarus. You failed to sully my name to the Protoss. You failed to protect the Temple of Jepok. You failed to take your revenge.
Nannoth/Taeradun
You have lived for centuries and accomplished nothing! My actions of a single year overshadow your entire life. You. Are. Pathetic!
MOLOCH
Make your point.
Nannoth/Taeradun
You even failed to kill the cerebrate. I have already begun to restore it to life.
MOLOCH
You are an abomination. Your works are an abomination. I will see you dead.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Brave words. Have you seen my warriors? They are pure now, as you soon will be. Once Zethys is returned to life, I will turn the Eye to you. You will serve me alongside the Zerg and then your failure will be complete.

54.
Nannoth/Taeradun turns to leave.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Sweet dreams, Dark Templar.
Fade to black. A voice in the darkness.
ZETHYS
PROTOSS.
ZETHYS
PROTOSS. I AM FRIEND.
Fade in.
Moloch
I know your touch, cerebrate. You are no friend of mine.
ZETHYS
CAN BE.
MOLOCH
Why would I trust you, puppet?
ZETHYS
BECAUSE I WILL USE YOU.
MOLOCH
You fail to make your case.
ZETHYS
USE YOU TO DIE.
MOLOCH
You seek death?
ZETHYS
YES. SO MUCH PAIN. EACH TIME ZETHYS DIES, THE ARROGANT MASTER REMAKES HIM.
MOLOCH
How could I trust you? My blade has savored your flesh.

55.
ZETHYS
ZETHYS KNOWS. ZETHYS REMEMBERS.
ZeTHYS
(mimicing Moloch)
WHERE IS YOUR OVERMIND NOW?
ZETHYS
ZETHYS RECALLS ALWAYS. LIFE IS PAIN. DEATH RELEASES ZETHYS. THE HOLLOW VOID BRINGS PEACE.
MOLOCH
I ... must think on your words, cerebrate.
The screen fades to black, coming back in after a few seconds with Moloch pacing his cell, fades again and we see Moloch meditating or something, fades one last time and we return to him standing at the entrance to his cell.
MoLOCH
If you help me escape, I will find a way to end your suffering, Zerg.
ZETHYS
YES. ZETHYS HELP PROTOSS ESCAPE. PROTOSS KILL ARROGANT MASTER. PROTOSS KILL ZETHYS. ZETHYS HAS SENT HIS SERVANT TO FREE YOU.
MOLOCH
Your servant? Can you not simply control the Zerg on this vessel?
ZETHYS
NO. ZETHYS IS TOO WEAK. THE EYE IS STILL UPON ZETHYS.
A panel on the wall pops open and a zergling sticks its head in.
ZETHYS
FOLLOW.
MoLOCH
Brothers, when the forcefields fall, make your way to the hangar bay. I will meet you there.

56.
Dark Templar
Yes, praetor. What must you do?
MOLOCH
I will disable the ship's weapons and engines. If we are to escape, I must ensure that the archon cannot follow us.
ZETHYS
COMPUTER THIS WAY. AND OTHER PROTOSS.
MOLOCH
(Sad, knowing he is going to have to kill other Protoss.)
Yes I imagine there are. May they forgive me for what I must do.
ZETHYS
NOT ENEMIES. PRISONERS.
MOLOCH
Then I shall free them.
ZETHYS
DO NOT WASTE TIME. ARROGANT MASTER WILL FIND YOU.
MOLOCH
I will do what I must, cerebrate.
Bonus Objective: free other Protoss captives. Moloch can go through side areas to free the DTs.
Moloch finds the first group of imprisoned Dts.
Dark TEMPLAR
Praetor!
MoLOCH
Brothers! Fear not, your imprisonment ends now.
Moloch disables the shield generators.

57.
DarK TEMPLAR
What are your orders?
MOLOCH
You are in no state for combat. Take the teleporter and await me in the hangar bay. I will disable this vessel.
Moloch reaches the computer.
ZeTHYS
HOW PROTOSS BREAK COMPUTER?
MOLOCH
The ship's computer is built with Khalai technology. I should be able to disrupt it with my dark energies, though it will tax me greatly.
ZETHYS
PROTOSS WILL STILL KILL ZETHYS?
MOLOCH
Yes. Though making my way through the ship may be difficult—this effort will no doubt weaken me.
Tutorial. No narration needed.
The ship's computer is built on a complex psionic matrix. Moloch must disable all three core crystals to proceed. The way is blocked by sentries and gates. Sentries prevent all passage, while gates must be powered before they can open. Each step Moloch takes in the matrix will drain his energy, as will powering gates or disabling the core crystals. Moloch can replenish his power by accessing psionic wells.

58.
Fade to black, switch to Dark Templar. This script assumes that there's no force field puzzle, just the DTs navigating the manufacturing facility.
Dark Templar
Praetor Moloch has disabled the ship's computer, come, we must make our way to the hangar bay.
Fade in/out.
Dark Templar
The interceptor manufacturing facility should lead directly to the hangar bay, but it seems that the computer is out of control. We must proceed with caution.
Onscreen hint: use access points to power areas of the interceptor manufacturing plant and proceed to the hangar bay.
DARK TEMPLAR
We are through. The hangar bay is just ahead.
When the D/T are done, switch back to Moloch.
Brood Fathers patrol a hallway. Moloch has to get past them to reach his next objective. There's an optional path to free dark templar.
ZETHYS
SHIP IN WARP. CANNOT ESCAPE.
MOLOCH
Then I must disable the ship.
ZETHYS
YES. THE ENGINEs.
MOLOCH
Where?
ZETHYS
ENGINES AHEAD. THERE ARE DETECTORS. AVOID.

59.
MOLOCH
This vessel seems too small for Overlords.
ZETHYS
NOT OVERLORDS. BROOD FATHERS. JUVENILE.
MOLOCH
The same creatures that hunted me on Shakuras? You call them Brood Fathers?
ZETHYS
NOT SAME. YOUNG. NOT SEE FAR. STAY BACK AND THEY NOT CATCH YOU.
MOLOCH
Very well. Let us begin.
The first time Moloch damages one of the patrollers.
ZETHYS
CAREFUL. BROOD FATHERS COME IF FRIENDS HURT.
If Moloch saves the DT.
MOLOCH
Comrades, I have business further on. Await me in the shuttle bay.
Dark TEMPLAR
As you command, Praetor!
Moloch reaches the engine room controls.
ZETHYS
ZETHYS NOT KNOW HOW TO BREAK ENGINES.
MOLOCH
Each engine is powered by its own matrix. They are well shielded, but if I redirect all three matrices to one engine, it should overload.
ZETHYS
AND SHIP STOPS WARP.

60.
MOLOCH
No, a single engine will not be sufficient. I will need to disable all three.
An engine overloads.
ZeTHYS
GOOD. SMART PROTOSS.
MOLOCH
I have no interest in your flattery.
#2 overloads.
ZETHYS
ONE MORE, THEN KILL ZETHYS.
MOLOCH
I honor my promises.
#3
MOLOCH
Now then, cerebrate, your time has come.
ZETHYS
ZETHYS IN CENTER. MASTER'S TEMPLE.
Moloch approaches Zethys.
ZETHYS
DO IT.
MOLOCH
Tell me how to reach the hangar bay.
ZETHYS
NOT FAR. ZETHYS HAS OWN PASSAGE.
An alarm sounds. N/T sounds over intercom.
Nannoth/TAERADUN
MOLOCH! You will not escape! Your pain will be eternal!

61.
ZETHYS
KILL NOW. MASTER IS LOOKING FOR YOU.
The game presents the choice to kill or not kill the cerebrate.
Kill:
MOLOCH
Then die, creature, and be at last at peace!
Don't Kill:
ZETHYS
KILL ZETHYS.
MOLOCH
You don't deserve my pity, cerebrate.
ZETHYS
(Pleading)
TEMPLAR AGREED.
MOLOCH
There is no dishonor in lying to the Zerg.
Moloch takes Zethys's private passage to the shuttle Bay. The Dark Templar are trapped on the other side of the bay.
Dark TemplAR
Praetor! Our way is blocked, and this door is too strong for our warp blades.
MOLOCH
Fear not, comrades. The hangar bay's controls are still...somewhat functional. I will free you.
Once Moloch has gotten it right.
MOLOCH
Come, comrades, we must rejoin judicator Turmalis and tell him what we have learned.

62.
Once moloch succeeds at blowing up the door, the DT all hop in escape pods (or whatever) and we switch back to zethys's room.
N/T enters.
If Moloch killed Zethys:
NANNOTH/TAERADUN
Traitorous creature. I can remake you from the smallest scrap. You shall know suffering as never before!
If Moloch left Zethys alive:
NANNOTH/TAERADUN
Traitorous creature. You shall know suffering as never before!

63.
3-5: The right tool for the job
Trench stands in broker's office. Gurney's by his side.
Broker
We meet again, Mr. Aster. I understand you have something of interest?
TreNCH
You wanted a weapon to use against the Protoss, right?
BROKER
You've done your research.
TRENCH
When I got out of New Antioch, I was smart enough to leave a couple bugs behind. Listen to this:
Audio plays:
KHRILLIAN
According to my predecessor, Laurioch, Sevorak unearthed two ancient Xel'naga orbs, which he called the Eyes of the Xel'naga.
TURMALIS
The Eyes? They are a myth used to frighten small children.
KHRILLIAN
Alas, they are very real. And they should strike fear into the heart of every Protoss.
Trench skips ahead.
KHRILLIAN
The second Eye. Jepok hid it on a place called Umbra.
TURMALIS
Umbra? I know it. A dead world. We must go at once.
Audio finishes.

64.
Broker
I have no interest in combating these Protoss.
TrenCH
That's the punchline, though! They're not going:
Audio plays.
Turmalis
We cannot mount expeditions to both places and still defend New Antioch.
KHRILLIAN
Then I must suggest we seek out Jepok's warriors. We would need them if we were to face the second Eye.
TURMALIS
Very well. We leave at once.
Audio ends.
Broker
I see.
TreNCH
If you get there first, you can get your hands on an artifact powerful enough to make Protoss kill each other.
BROKER
And you wish to sell me the location of this item?
TRENCH
Well...sort of. They didn't actually say where it was. But I've got an idea. There's a woman I know--Haley Rourke--
BROKER
Your former paramour?

65.
TRENCH
...Guess I'm not the only one who did his research.
BROKER
Power is not only about strength of arms, Mr. Aster. You believe that Ms. Rourke knows the location of Umbra? That makes a certain amount of sense, given her activities since your split.
TRENCH
I was about to say that all I need to do is track her down and convince her to work with us...
BrOKER
"Us." How presumptuous.
TRENCH
...Convince her to work with us. But I'm guessing you know where she is already.
Broker turns to his computer, which makes computer noises.
BrOKER
On the planet of Sikarra. She's recently found herself unemployed after a...disagreement with her supervisor.
TRENCH
(Sarcastic)
Thanks. Anything else I should know?
BROKER
Not that I care to disclose. Mr. Gurney will see you out.
Trench leaves, Gurney turns to face Broker.
Gurney
Can I ask a question, boss?
BROKER
Sir.

66.
GURNEY
Sorry. Can I ask a question, sir?
BROKER
Permission granted.
GURNEY
You said you don't want to fight the Protoss, but...didn't you come after Charlie and me because we messed up your weapons project? And now you're going after another? You looking to sell?
BROKER
Mr. Gurney, some day you will learn that there are things more important than money.
GURNEY
(As if mulling over an odd concept)
Like what, sir?
BROKER
Did you ever visit Chau Sara, Mr. Gurney? I have on several occasions. The first was a visit with my family, to celebrate my graduation. It was the first time I ever traveled off world, in fact.
Broker
Most people only knew the world because of its penal colony, but we spent several days in Los Andares, and several more exploring the jungles. I still remember standing in the jungle and marveling that humanity was so advanced as to conquer the stars.
BROKER
I returned to Chau Sara later, on Combine business. My wife had given birth a few weeks before, or she would have joined. When I left home, I promised that she and my daughter could accompany me on my next visit.

67.
BROKER
That was 2499. The Zerg arrived not long after I left, slaughtering all in their path. But their horrors were nothing compared to the Protoss, who snuff out entire planets on a whim.
BROKER
I was fortunate I hadn't yet gone with my family, but how long until they cross the paths of the Zerg or Protoss? I can't afford to allow such a risk, Mr. Gurney. We must stand against these aliens, or we will be destroyed. The Psi Cocoon was the means to such an end, but it seems you and your friend had different... less charitable plans for it.
BROKER
You not only decided that the lives of Protoss were more valuable than your own kind, you intended to use my device for ransom! You are lucky that you have proven yourself of worth to me, unlike your conspirators. Consider the retrieval of this weapon to be your last chance for forgiveness.
BROKER
You are dismissed.
We're in a bar again. Haley stands at the bar. Trench walks up behind her.
This scene should be pretty confusing to the player. Why is Haley so cold? Last we saw she was asking him to marry her.
TRENCH
What're you having?
Haley
You've gotta be kidding me.
TRENCH
(Maximally charming)
Hi sweetheart.

68.
HALEY
(Not nearly as excited as Trench would hope)
How did you find me?
TRENCH
(Confused as to why his smooth moves aren't working.)
I've got my ways. Listen, let me buy you a drink. I've got the job of a lifetime for you.
HALEY
(Sighs)
One drink. Let's hear it.
Fade out and in. Haley and Trench stand looking at a facility.
HaLEY
(Seeming warmer)
I have to admit. That IS a pretty good offer.
TreNCH
So will you do it?
HALEY
Yeah. We're going to need access to some survey records from ExploriTech, though. And I'm not exactly welcome inside anymore.
TRENCH
Sweetheart, you've come to the right man for that. We'll be in and out in no time.
HALEY
(Resigned)
It really is just like old times.

69.
Trench and Haley approach the entrance to the facility
Haley
Trent, I worked here for a year and never heard anything about a back door.
TreNCH
There's always a back door.
TrenCH
Ahhh, there it is.
HaLEY
What am I missing?
Trench
Security cameras on "natural" rock. Yeah, back door should be around here somewhere.
HALEY
Wow, good eye. Let's do this.
Inside the facility.
Haley
Alright, the main computer bay is about as far from here as possible. Let's move.
TreNCH
Yes ma'am. I'll take point. Things are liable to get nasty in here--sure you're ready to shoot your coworkers?
HALEY
My coworkers all got fired after the buyout. I don't know any of these people.
TRENCH
And the security staff?
HALEY
Honestly? A lot of them deserve to be shot.

70.
As they enter, an alarm sounds
Computer
Warning--unauthorized personnel detected. All guards cease card games and begin patrol.
HalEY
That was unusually specific.
After killing guards at entrance
Computer
Invisibility suit detected. Activating sensor and gas defense systems.
Trench
So...they'll be able to see me.
Haley
This is going well.
THEY DISCOVER SOME SECURITY BOTS
COMPUTER
Activating Automated Defense Bots 92 to 94.
They discover some security bots
COMPUTER
Activating Automated Defense Bots 134 to 140.
Etc.
ComPUTER
Activating Automated Defense Bot 160 to 165.
Ad nauseum
COMPUTER
Activating Automated Defense Bot 83 to 88.

71.
They enter the power generator area.
TrenCH
Well, those are power generators if I've ever seen one.
HaLEY
These power the turrets...plus a few other things.
TRENCH
What other things?
HaLEY
I'm honestly not sure.
TRENCH
Greeeeat. Ok, I could probably rig up some chain reactions using those terminals. Looks like, the generators are messing with my cloaking field, though; cover me?
HALEY
Since when are you the expert hacker?
TRENCH
There's all sorts of stuff you don't know about me, sweetheart.
HALEY
Stop. calling. me. sweetheart. and get to work.
Any time Trench takes damage, his progress is reset:
TRENCH
Ouch! Haley, keep these idiots off me.
TRENCH
This would go a lot faster if I stopped getting shot.

72.
TRENCH
OK, SERIOUSLY! Do you like it when I get hurt?
HaLEY
Do you have to ask?
TRENCH
(Generic exclamation of pain.)
First set of generators down.
ComPUTER
Warning. Abnormal generator failure detected. Dispatching investigation squad.
Second set.
COMPUTER
Warning: generator power critical. Entering low-power mode: all coffee makers deactivated.
All blown up.
Computer
Critical error in power system. All static turrets offline.
HALEY
About time we got some good news.
They enter the gas generator area
HALEY
Here's where they fuel the gas defenses.
Trench
Great. Let's break stuff.
As they die:

73.
ComPUTER
Warning. Abnormal gas leak in fuel room.
COMPUTER
Warning. Major leak in gas supply room.
COMPUTER
Critical Error. Gas supply at 0%, all gas defenses deactivated.
Trench
That should do it. Let's keep moving.
They enter the automated defense production room
Haley
Here's where they manufacture the warbots.
TreNCH
There's no way we've got time to blow up that many factories!
HALEY
Hey, don't worry about it. I've gotten pretty good at blowing stuff up. See those trucks over there?
TRENCH
Yeah..?
HALEY
They're packed with liquid C-9. Watch my back?
TrenCH
Gladly.
HALEY
Ugh.
If a truck that Haley is hotwiring gets destroyed.
HALEY
Hey! Are you covering me or what?
The first time a truck gets destroyed.

74.
HALEY
Trent! Keep your eyes open. We're screwed without these trucks.
If more get destroyed.
HALEY
Great, lost another truck.
If they lose all of them.
HALEY
Well, scratch that plan. Thanks for watching my back, "partner."
Haley runs to each truck, as Trench fends off some attacks.
HALEY
Done! Stand clear!
The trucks drive off and blow up the factories.
THEY DISCOVER SOME more SECURITY BOTS
COMPUTER
Activating Automated Defense Bots 172 to 176.
Scientists in the Southwest corner
SciENTIST
Don't shoot me! I'll do whatever you want, just don't shoot me!
Trench
Great. Open the door.
ScIENTIST
Ok, it's open!
Haley
Get lost.
The scientists flee.

75.
Entering the south-east security area
CompUTER
Activating gas defenses in sector 13.
TrenCH
Oh, come on!
THEY DISCOVER SOME MORE SECURITY BOTS
COMPUTER
Activating Automated Defense Bots 210 to 217 and 218 to 225.
THEY DISCOVER SOME MORE SECURITY BOTS
COMPUTER
Activating Automated Defense Bots 226 to 231 and 232 to 239.
They get into the camera area
CompUTER
Warning. Camera Control Room infiltrated.
ScIENTIST
Don't shoot! I've got a family. Wait, Haley? Is that you?
Haley
(Awkward)
Uh...hey Frank. I thought you got fired. Kill the cameras, would you?
SCIENTIST
S-sure. Done.
HALEY
Great, thanks. Good to see you!
Trench starts hacking.
TreNCH
Cameras, cameras... where are the camera controls?

76.
HALEY
You know, you're pretty cute when you're bent over a computer like that.
TRENCH
*sputtering cough*
COMPUTER
Access denied.
TreNCH
Uh...
Haley
Let me see that. There we go.
COMPUTER
Access granted. Camera systems deactivated.
This mission requires the duo to sneak through this facility. They also do some murder because of course they do. We'll make sure to use Haley's as-of-yet undecided powers here. You can only control one unit at a time, the other you give simple orders only.
Banter:
TreNCH
I gotta ask, though.
HALEY
You really don't.
TRENCH
Why'd you stop writing?
HALEY
Trent, let's leave the past in the past. People change.
They hit a computer terminal.
HaLEY
This won't get us into the mainframe, but I'm sure we can get something useful. Let's see what you've got.
Trench
Prepare to be impressed.
CoMPUTER
Access denied.

77.
TRENCH
Oh COME on!
(Sound of Trench kicking the machine.)
COMPUTER
Access granted.
HalEY
(Sarcasm)
Well I guess that's one way of going about it.
TrENCH
Hmm, nothing about planets, but I did find partial schematics for some sort of mech in here. Probably worth checking out.
HALEY
Sure. You never know what might prove useful.
Bonus Objective: Gather the schematics for the Lynx.
As they pick up the plans. They'll say things, but I can't decide what right now:
TRENCH
Banter
TRENCH
You know, after you stopped writing, I just wasn't the same. Quit the old security gig. Went freelance.
HALEY
Uh-huh.
TRENCH
Made something of a name for myself, actually. These days, most people call me "Trench."
HALEY
(Excited)
Wait. YOU'RE Trench?

78.
TRENCH
One and the same.
Banter:
HALEY
(Warming to him)
You're the guy who took down the Epsilon Syndicate?
TRENCH
(Faux modesty)
I don't know about "took down." All I got was a location. The locals called in the air force.
HALEY
And you took home 25k.
TRENCH
That was just the bounty. I got another 25k from the Syndicate's safe on the way out.
Banter:
HALEY
When the combine got absorbed into the Dominion, I got out. Mengsk didn't seem like the kind of guy I wanted to work for.
TRENCH
That's how you ended up at ExploriTech?
HALEY
No, that's how I ended up at AstroSpan. Then Galexaminer. I bounce around a lot.
TRENCH
(Slightly bitter)
Same old Haley, huh?
HALEY
(Regretfully)
Guess so.
More Banter:

79.
TrENCH
You could have moved to MY apartment you know? The rent was cheaper.
HALEY
It was much smaller than mine. Way too tight.
TRENCH
We both fit. That's all that would have mattered.
HALEY
Trent, that's sweet of you to say now, but it's a bit late.
TRENCH
(Exhales slowly, a bit forlorn.)
They reach the central computers.
HalEY
Ok, you're up.
TreNCH
Not a problem.
Computer noises.
Computer
Access granted.
TRENCH
(Surprising himself a bit.)
Got it in one!
HALEY
Now I'm impressed. Let's see...we're looking for something isolated and dead, gotta be in or around Protoss space...
Computer noises.
HALEY
Hello there, beautiful. One of our scouts found this baby a while ago. Just a bit of metal on the surface. AND its orbit means it barely gets any sun. The records call it P-255, but it sure sounds like the kind of place I'd call "Umbra."

80.
TRENCH
Alright, let's hit the road.

81.
3-6: THE GREY
BRIEFING: KHRILLIAN AND TURMALIS LEAD AN EXPEDITION TO THE UNNAMED JUNGLE MOON.
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, we have arrived, though it seems we are not the first. Our observers have discovered an abandoned Terran settlement that should serve us well as a base.
TURMALIS
And where have these Terrans gone?
KHRILLIAN
I do not know, Judicator. Perhaps we will learn more on the surface.
KHRILLIAN
The temple itself is far inland, but the jungle is too thick to land. We'll have something of a trek ahead of us.
TURMALIS
Can we not warp in?
LAURIOCH (THROUGH KHRILLIAN)
No. I seeded the jungle with warp disruptors long ago.
TURMALIS
Laurioch!?
LAURIOCH
In part. A mere shade left in my journal as guide. I apologize, Khrillian, for the intrusion.
KHRILLIAN
No, master, I am honored. There is so much I would ask you.
LAURIOCH
Alas, I will be unable to answer. I know only what I must to aid you.

82.
TURMALIS
Is this permanent?
LAURIOCH
No--I will depart once you have reached the Grey.
TURMALIS
The "Grey." I see. Then let us make haste. I would not have Khrillian burdened so if it may be avoided.
IN-GAME: ON PLANET, THE PLAYERS ARRIVE AT NIGHT.
TURMALIS
This darkness is unnatural.
LAURIOCH
I spent many years here, fashioning its defenses. I apologize, but you must defeat them to reach the Grey.
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, our Dragoons can barely see. Their range will be greatly reduced.
TURMALIS
A problem that will be solved when the sun rises.
LAURIOCH
Only to be replaced by another.
SUNRISE. THE PLANTS GROW VICIOUS, UNITS MOVE SLOWLY, WHATEVER.
KHRILLIAN
I must salute you, master; even the plants on this world prove formidable.
TURMALIS
Could you not have provided a more simple mode of ingress?

83.
LAURIOCH
I could not. The temple's defenses were of utmost import.
TURMALIS
And if those in need of the Grey cannot reach them because of these defenses?
KHRILLIAN
It seems he has no answer for that question.
THE HEROES BATTLE THROUGH THE JUNGLE AND FIND THE EXPANSION, WITH GORE AND RUIN ABOUT.
KHRILLIAN
We seem to have found the Terrans.
TURMALIS
Indeed. Let us hope a similar fate is not in store for us.
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, your capacity for grave pronouncements is unparalleled.
TURMALIS
I take your point.
THE HEROES ENCOUNTER THE PROTO-PURIFIERS FOR THE FIRST TIME.
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, we are nearing the temple. However, our forward scouts have discovered further defenders. They seem to be some sort of automatons.
TURMALIS
They are unmistakably of Protoss design, though they have clearly inhabited this planet for some time. I assume this is Laurioch's doing.

84.
LAURIOCH
Indeed. These constructs are remnants of a forbidden project that Jepok discovered in the Conclave's archives.
TURMALIS
What project?
LAURIOCH
As Jepok explained, the aim was to replicate Protoss consciousness into an army of robotic hosts.
TURMALIS
Replicate consciousness? Then these defenders are Protoss warriors themselves?
LAURIOCH
Somewhat. The attempt was not entirely successful. The Conclave deemed the program a failure and the warriors were decommissioned. I adjusted their programming to defend the temple.
TURMALIS
"Not entirely successful?" Are you saying they still see themselves as Protoss? How could the Conclave sanction the creation of these warriors and then discard them?
KHRILLIAN
My time studying under Laurioch taught me that Conclave were hardly the noble body you believe them to be. Their priority was maintaining their power. And if that required dishonoring the spirits of Protoss warriors...
TURMALIS
...or lionizing Nannoth/Taeradun and burying the truth of Sevorak's heresy.

85.
KHRILLIAN
Precisely. That scandal would have compromised the Judicator caste's grip. Thus here we stand condemning the desecrations of the mad judicator, gazing on warriors similarly dishonored by those we trusted to lead us.
TURMALIS
And now they are pressed into service here. Laurioch, how could you bring yourself to further their indignities by...adjusting them? They should be honored as the Protoss warriors they are, mechanical or not.
KHRILLIAN
It seems he again has no answer.
TURMALIS
Of course not. Khrillian, what shall we do about these guardians? We surely cannot have sunk so low as to murder our own kind, simulacra or not.
KHRILLIAN
If they are born of Protoss minds, perhaps we can reason with them?
TURMALIS
Perhaps so. Let us see.
The Protoss approach the first encampment. Turmalis steps forward.
TURMALIS
Greetings! I am Judicator--
PURIFIER
Begone, intruder!
They attack. The Protoss retreat.
TURMALIS
Or perhaps not. How much more Innocent Blood must we spill in this battle?

86.
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, when night falls, it may be possible to sneak past these constructs.
TURMALIS
They seem quite vigilant.
KHRILLIAN
True, but our forces could provide a distraction while I reach the temple.
TURMALIS
You alone?
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, you have grown too used to seeing me in my Corsair. Do not forget that I was raised as a Dark Templar. The night is my home.
TURMALIS
I dislike any plan that risks harming these warriors, but I accept. I will do my best to minimize casualties; they have been dishonored enough.
Bonus objective: kill no more than X guardians.
Khrillian gets in position.
INFILTRATION TUTORIAL CUTSCENE
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, you will need to use the command buttons when it is time for me to advance. As you said, these constructs are quite vigilant. I cannot move past them if they remain in place.
Khrillian starts to move, but cannot.
KHRILLIAN
However, if you distract the guards...

87.
Cutscene units move in, and pull the purifiers.
KHRILLIAN
...and then use the command button to order me to move once they're clear...
Khrillian moves in and gets past.
KHRILLIAN
...I will be able to make my way toward the temple.
Button click? Khrillian moves in and gets past.
KHRILLIAN
Deftly done, Judicator. Moloch would be proud.
TURMALIS
There was a time I would not have appreciated that compliment.
KHRILLIAN
One more thing, Judicator. We have completed modifications on two shuttles to allow them to fly under this heavy cover. I sense that you will need them.
TURMALIS
Very well, let us proceed. Should I need more forces, I will shift my focus back to our main base.
KHRILLIAN SNEAKS IN WHILE TURMALIS PROVIDES DISTRACTION. KHRILLIAN REACHES THE SHRINE.
LAURIOCH
My presence will be sufficient to open the shrine.
He isn't wrong. The opening of the shrine gets the attention of the natives, ending the combat. Khrillian enters and sees four stasis tubes. Each explodes, revealing a member of the Grey.
GREY 1 (DARK TEMPLAR FEMALE)
Who has awoken us?

88.
LAURIOCH
I have. I am the shade of Laurioch, who placed you here so long ago.
GREY 2 (DARK TEMPLAR MALE)
Then the Eyes have returned?
LAURIOCH
They have. You are needed.
GREY 3 (HIGH TEMPLAR MALE)
Then we will come. We are glad to follow you once more, Master.
LAURIOCH
Thank you, but it will not be me that you follow. My purpose has ended. This body belongs to one called Khrillian, my successor. It is he you will follow.
KHRILLIAN
I am honored.
GREY 4 (HIGH TEMPLAR FEMALE)
As are we, Master Khrillian. We are the Grey.
KHRILLIAN
Have you names?
GREY 2 (DARK TEMPLAR MALE)
We do not. We surrendered those and much more when we became... this.
GREY 3 (HIGH TEMPLAR MALE)
We must make haste. The powers that we wield can not long be contained by these shells.
THEY STEP OUTSIDE. THE PURIFIERS HAVE GATHERED AROUND THE TEMPLE.
GREY 1 (DARK TEMPLAR FEMALE)
What is this?

89.
KHRILLIAN
These are the guardians of your temple. Mechanical vessels imbued with the minds of our people.
GREY 4 (HIGH TEMPLAR FEMALE)
I find this uncomfortable.
A Purifier approaches.
PURIFIER
Great Templar, freed of your slumber. What is your command?
GREY 4 (HIGH TEMPLAR FEMALE)
Our command?
PURIFIER
We have carried out our orders to protect you until you awoke. What now is our purpose?
GREY 3 (HIGH TEMPLAR MALE)
(Awkward)
Your... purpose?
GREY 2 (DARK TEMPLAR MALE
Your... purpose. Is life.
GREY 3 (HIGH TEMPLAR MALE)
Once you believed that your purpose was bound to this temple.
GREY 4 (HIGH TEMPLAR FEMALE)
It is not so.
GREY 2 (DARK TEMPLAR MALE)
You are bound only to each other.
GREY 3 (HIGH TEMPLAR MALE)
There could be no higher purpose-
GREY 1 (DARK TEMPLAR FEMALE)
-than service to each other, and to those that need you.
PURIFIER
But ... you were to give us purpose when you awoke. We fulfilled the Conclave's will. We fulfilled Laurioch's will. We cannot feel the Khala in this state. How can we find our own purpose?

90.
GREY 1 (DARK TEMPLAR FEMALE)
We are not meant to give you purpose. Only you can give yourself purpose. The Khala is a crutch you must now learn to do without, as the Dark Templar have for centuries.
PURIFIER
The Conclave would call your words heresy, yet it is by their actions that we exist in these forms. To find our own purpose, without the Khala...you give us much to ponder.
KHRILLIAN
We can do no more for them now but ensure that their role in the battle against Nannoth/Taeradun is Not Forgotten. Come, I would introduce you to our leader.
Turmalis walks up to the group.
TURMALIS
Khrillian! Have you found the instrument we seek to defeat Taeradun?
KHRILLIAN
I believe so. Brave warriors, this is Judicator Turmalis. I can think of no Protoss who better follows your ideals.
GREY 3 (HIGH TEMPLAR MALE)
En Taro Jepok, Judicator. What is our destination?
TURMALIS
The moon of Umbra. And let us pray that we are not too late.

91.
ALTERNATE BAD ENDING IF THE PLAYER HAS KILLED MORE THAN 50(?) PURIFIERS. THE GREY EMERGE FROM THE TEMPLE AND THE GROUND IS COVERED WITH BODIES. TURMALIS STANDS TO MEET THEM.
GREY 1 (DARK TEMPLAR FEMALE)
What is this slaughter?
TURMALIS
The fruits of yet another failure.
(Awkward pause)
KHRILLIAN
Forgive him, we have travelled a dark road to find you.

92.
3-7: Too greedy, too deep
Briefing: Broker stands watching the excavation of the eye's temple. Gurney stands with him.
BrokER
Do you see your friend?
GurNEY
Charlie?
BROKER
Indeed. You would be laboring beside him had you not proved so useful.
GURNEY
Why don't you just kill the guy?
BROKER
I am not like you, Mr. Gurney. I do not spit in the eye of justice. Mr. Mox will receive a trial for his crimes once we have acquired the Eye. Until then, he digs.
GURNEY
How about Rockwell? Doesn't he drive you crazy?
BROKER
The man is insufferable, but he too will receive justice in time.
Ms. Smith enters.
Smith
Captain, we've detected incoming vessels.
BROKER
Protoss?
SMITH
And Zerg.
BROKER
Then we allow them to annihilate each other.

93.
SMITH
Sir--they seem to be working together.
BROKER
(For once, taken off guard.)
Then we must dig faster. Mr. Gurney, you will be responsible for our defenses. Mr. Aster: you and Ms. Rourke will join me at the temple. Ms. Smith will provide Mr. Gurney with reconaissance on the enemy forces.
GURNEY
You got it, boss.
BROKER
"Sir."
GURNEY
Sorry. Yes, sir.
BROKER
And Mr. Gurney--keep expenditures to a minimum and you will be rewarded.
In game: The temple is in the center of the map, with a ring of Terran buildings around it. The player has to defend the temple until Broker gets access.
Bonus Objective: Spend no more than X minerals.
Banter:
HalEY
Did he say Protoss AND Zerg?
TRENCH
Not the first time I've seen it. We snuck out under the same one-two punch back at New Antioch.
HALEY
How is that possible?

94.
TRENCH
Wish I knew, sweetheart. But if I had to guess, probably this Eye thing?
HALEY
Don't call me sweetheart.
Banter:
GuRNEY
Uh, sir... these minerals aren’t going to last very long.
BrOKER
As an “experienced” commander, Mr. Gurney, I assume you have a solution?
GURNEY
I guess we could try to expand some, but that would mean going outside the perimeter.
BrOKER
Then do so, Mr. Gurney. Time is wasting.
Banter:
Broker
Mr. Gurney, how fare our defenses?
GurNEY
We're holding OK for now, bo--...sir. But this is just the beginning. We're seeing a lot more incoming.
BROKER
You assured me that the men you provided were experts. Stand fast.
Broker signs off.
GurNEY
That's a lot of Zerg...
The players gets warnings when the bad guys are attacking.

95.
Smith
Enemy forces are massing for an attack from the east.
SmITH
The enemy is preparing for an assault from the south.
SMITH
The enemy has launched an attack to from west.
SMITH
The enemy has deployed an aerial attack.
Banter:
TreNCH
This is looking bad.
Mox
Serves you right, mate.
TRENCH
For what, taking a job? You're the one who was going to take PLANETS hostage!
MOX
That was Gurney's idea!
TRENCH
You could've said no.
HALEY
(Interrupting)
Planets?
TreNCH
Long story.
Banter after a big attack:
Broker
Ms. Smith, please prepare a dropship. I may find it necessary to depart quickly.
No response.

96.
BrokER
Ms. Smith?
BROKER
Unfortunate.
The temple is breached. Broker, trench, and haley enter. Mox sneaks in behind. The eye sits, waiting. Broker approaches.
HalEY
Alright... sir... we’ve breached the temple.
BROKER
At last! The eye is mine!
Special effects. Throughout out this scene, Broker's voice gets weirder and weirder.
BROKER
Yes, finally. A worthy weapon. I can feel its power coursing through me.
HaLEY
(Quietly to Trench)
Was this part of the plan?
BROKER
Of course it was, Ms. Rourke! I have spent years searching for such a tool. The ghost program, the psi cocoon--each was an attempt to develop a weapon to leverage against my enemies.
HALEY
What are you talking about?
BROKER
Power, Ms. Rourke. Power is everything. It's what you walk with in daylight. It's what casts a shadow at sunset. It's why you lie awake at night. It's what scares the hell out of you! It's what I am.

97.
HALEY
Oookay.
BROKER
And now I have it! The Eye is mine! The time for cleansing has come!
HALEY
Cleansing?
BROKER
Cleansing! The galaxy is awash in corruption and sin. I will bring it all to an end. We will be reborn!
HALEY
You're going off the deep end faster than a gangster with cement shoes. Where'd this cleansing stuff come from?
TrENCH
(Moving up beside her)
Haley...
HALEY
I can take care of myself, Trent.
BrokER
You ask an excellent question, Ms. Rourke! It is true that I was once awash in this same sin--
HALEY
Once? That was two minutes--
BROKER
(Super scary roar sound effect)
SILENCE!
The Eye shoots Haley with a laser beam.
BROKER
You dare to doubt me? You shall be the first to see the truth!
Broker approaches menacingly.

98.
TreNCH
That's enough of that.
Trench snipes Broker. Broker turns.
BROKER
Pathetic. It seems you too must be cleansed, Mr. Aster. It will not be painless.
TRENCH
Ah, shit. Mox--get Haley out of here. I'll hold this guy off.
Trench shoulders his weapon as Broker approaches. Mox and Haley run off deeper into the temple as the screen fades to black.
Screen fades back in. Broker stands over Trench's mangled corpse. Broker's been transformed into some sort of monster.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Well fought, terran.
BrOKER
Who are you?
Nannoth/Taeradun
I am Taeradun. I, too, serve the master of the Eyes.
BROKER
I am the master of the Eyes!
Nannoth/Taeradun
You are not. Nor am I.
Broker's eye floats over to match Nannoth/Taeradun's.
BrOKER
No! It's mine!
Nannoth/Taeradun
Quiet, my child. These Eyes are not for us. They serve a greater purpose.
BROKER
(Despairing)
There is no greater purpose!

99.
Nannoth/Taeradun
(Comforting)
Be calm. With these Eyes, we will restore our master. Sevorak will return and cleanse the galaxy of sin.
BROKER
Return? How?
Nannoth/Taeradun
The Eyes contain the power of life and death. Behold!
Special effects from the eyes, and Trench returns to life.
TrenCH
(Creepy sound effect)
I live to serve.
BROKER
(Shocked)
Then...what is my purpose?
Nannoth/Taeradun
I will take the Eyes to Scion. You will remain here to await the arrival of our enemies. Re-seal the temple—-they must believe I have not yet obtained the second Eye if we hope to detain them. Kill as many as you can. When our master is revived, I will return for you.
HalEY
(Hidden, whispering to Mox)
Oh, Trent...

100.
3-8: Eye to Eye
Briefing: Turmalis and Khrillian stand on a protoss bridge. They are accompanied by the grey.
Grey 1 (Dark Templar Female)
The forces arrayed against us are vast.
KHRILLIAN
Indeed. Their defenses are impressive, and they have blocked many paths. We will not easily reach the temple.
TURMALIS
And the temple itself-—is it intact?
KHRILLIAN
It is. They have laborers working now to open it, but it seems that Jepok built a sturdier structure than they anticipated.
TURMALIS
Then let us count that as a small blessing. We attack at once.
Grey 2 (Dark Templar Male)
We were born for this purpose--allow us the honor of leading this attack.
TuRMALIS
Very well. We shall support you as you require.
IN-GAME: There are sets of defenses to penetrate: Zerg, Protoss, and Terran. The player only directly controls the heroes, the rest are controlled through a MOBA-style control system (thanks, Knalle!).
KhRILLIAN
Judicator, two paths have been presented to us.
TurMALIS
We must choose and strike quickly.

101.
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, if I may offer a suggestion? Our resources are badly depleted. We could replenish them by conquering other bases.
TURMALIS
Attempting to do so could cost more than it gains.
KHRILLIAN
Perhaps so, Judicator. The choice is yours.
During the mission, the player gets upgrades.
TURMALIS
Comrades, we have gathered sufficient materials to upgrade our forces. How should we proceed?
TurMALIS
This base will provide enough resources for additional assaults.
Turmalis
Warriors, our new base allows us to produce Reavers for your attacks.
TURMALIS
Brave friends, our new base allows us to produce Dark Templar for your attacks.
TURMALIS
We have nearly reached the temple. This new base allows us to produce Archons for your attacks.
During the mission, various supercharged Protoss/Zerg units attack.
The first time:
Turmalis
These creatures seem to be protected by some sort of energy. Our weapons are useless against them.

102.
Grey 4 (High Templar Female)
Judicator, the Archon has infused them the power of the Eye. Only our attacks will be able to pierce their defenses.
Repeating incidents:
Grey 3 (High Templar Male)
Beware--more of the Archon's aberrations approach.
Grey 2 (Dark Templar Male)
The Archon sends more of his creatures.
Grey 1 (Dark Templar Female)
Stay back, Judicator, we will handle these creatures.
The Protoss forces break through the Terran area and find Gurney.
GurNEY
Judicator, am I glad to see you!
Grey 2 (Dark Templar Male)
Who is this Terran?
TurMALIS
A criminal and a liar. A bad liar, at that.
GurNEY
Hey, wait--
Grey 3 (High Templar Male)
Silence.
Grey 2 (Dark Templar Male) force punches Gurney off the map.
The forces reach the temple.
KhrILLIAN
Judicator, the temple has been breached!
Grey 4 (High Templar Female)
Our time has come!
Inside, Monster-Broker is waiting for them.

103.
Turmalis
Where is the Eye?
BrOKER
Gone. You are far too late.
KhRILLIAN
It was a trick.
BROKER
And you were too blinded by your arrogance to see it. Now you must face me!
Big explosion. Broker gets pulped.
HaLEY
(Standing by a jerry-rigged cannon)
I don't think so.
Mox
(Whistles)
Remind me not to piss you off.
Turmalis turns his attention to Mox.
TurmALIS
Commander Mox--you are alive. And who is your companion?
Mox
(Starts to talk)
Her name--
HalEY
My name is Haley Rourke. I'm the Head Archaeologist here.
KHRILLIAN
Archaeologist? You are responsible for this?
HALEY
As much as anyone, I suppose.
Grey 3 (High Templar Male)
She should pay for her crimes.

104.
HALEY
I already did. That... thing killed Trent.
TURMALIS
Trent... Trench? He was here as well?
HALEY
Yes. He's the one who got me into this. Broker killed him. And then that Archon... brought him back.
TURMALIS
Fate has quite the cynical sense of timing.
Grey 1 (Dark Templar Female)
He has reunited the Eyes.
TurmALIS
And now he has gone. But where?
Mox
Some place called Scion. He said something about the Master of the Eyes?
Khrillian
He can mean only Sevorak.
Grey 2 (Dark Templar Male)
This cannot be.
TurMALIS
Then we return to Aiur one last time. Terrans, we will speak of your crimes at another time.
MOX
Ehhh, Judicator?
TURMALIS
Yes, Commander?
Mox
Think I could maybe help out? I figure I've got a lot to answer for.

105.
HaLEY
I'm coming too.
TURMALIS
Very well. Commander, would you say that "the hour is upon us?"
Mox
Aye, mate, I sure would.

106.
3-9A: Eyes of the Beholder
KHRILLIAN
The province of Scion. So much still intact.
TurmALIS
And yet the Zerg are everywhere. Taeradun's profanity knows no bounds.
Grey 1 (Dark Templar Female)
We must hurry. The forces inside us are ever at war. It will not be long before we are torn asunder.
TURMALIS
Commander Mox, were you able to gather your forces?
Mox
Some of 'em. Seems someone's been hiring a lot of mercenaries these days--too many of my boys have moved on.
TURMALIS
We will be happy for what aid you can offer.
TURMALIS
Khrillian, tell me of the Archon's defenses.
KHRILLIAN
I bear ill news. Nannoth/Taeradun has managed to reproduce the dampening effect of the Psi Cocoon. Our observers have detected three separate sources for this field.
Grey 2 (Dark Templar Male)
What is this Psi Cocoon?
TURMALIS
The Psi Cocoon was the beginning of this war. It appeared on Aiur shortly after the death of the Overmind.

107.
Grey 3 (High Templar Male)
Overmind?
TURMALIS
I apologize, but there is too much history to explain.
TuRMALIS
Commander, I believe that you are something of an expert in these matters.
Mox
Ah, yeah, guess you could say that. Lemme see what you've got.
KhRILLIAN
You will receive the psionic transfer in a moment.
Sound effect.
Mox
Well that was unpleasant.
TurmALIS
At your leisure, Commander.
Mox
Okay, well, this could be worse. Looks like Taera- Teera- ah the Archon didn't quite work out the whole cocoon. He's only got the dampening field going. Good news, since I don't think you've got another emitter or three lying around.
MoLOCH
Then we must rely on the Terrans to disable the dampening field.
Basically everyone
Moloch!?

108.
Moloch
Indeed. I apologize for my absence. After defeating the Cerebrate, I found myself in the care of Taeradun. It took me some time to escape.
TurMALIS
And so you have returned to us. We will speak of your deceptions once this day is done.
KHRILLIAN
(Interrupting because shit was about to get awkward.)
Moloch, I wish to introduce you to the Grey. They are Jepok's final gift to us--a weapon against the Eyes.
MOLOCH
(Almost chuckling to himself with dark humor.)
Ah, secrets upon secrets. How fitting.
MoLOCH
Judicator, I once berated you for your Conclave's politicking. I must apologize, as it seems my own behavior was little better. Had I told you the truth of Nannoth/Taeradun, many lives would have been spared.
TurmALIS
Indeed. Khrillian and I have spoken of this matter at length. Your reasons were misguided, but well-intentioned.
HALEY
(Walks on camera)
I hate to be that girl, but...the bad guy is down there. I'm glad you're all getting along or whatever, but time's wasting.

109.
MoLOCH
(Amused.)
And who is this curt Terran?
TuRMALIS
Her name is--
HALEY
Haley Rourke. Let's go.
In Game: The dampening field means that the Terrans need to take point. Unfortunately, there really aren't a lot of Terrans (artificially low supply limit).
Mox
Judicator, I wasn't kidding about having trouble finding personnel. I called up every deadbeat and burnout I knew, but this army's gonna be smaller than you're used to.
Khrillian
I find this description of your forces distressing, Terran.
Mox
Eh, don't worry about it, mate. We'll get the job done.
Mox et al. defeat the first psi cocoon.
Mox
Judicator, we're doing our best, but this Zerg situation is pretty serious. I don't know if we can get to that next cocoon.
TURMALIS
Understood, Commander. Khrillian, perhaps if we mass our forces?
KHRILLIAN
Without our shields, the casualties would be immense.
Loud prog rock blares. Camera pans to craptons of dropships.

110.
Rockwell
FINALLYYYY ROCKWELL HAS COME *BACK*... TO AIUR.
The dropships unload a veritable second army.
ROckWELL
Sounds like someone needs assistance from The. Most. Electrifying. Siege. Tank. Pilot IN THE SECTOR!
Mox
Unbelievable. You've been hiring up all my old forces?
ROCKWELL
You better believe it, Chuckie! Rockwell is here with the millions... and millions of Rockwell fans to drop the hammer on these Zerg freaks.
HalEY
Does he always talk like this?
ROCKWELL
Damn straight, sister! Now let's kick some candy ass.
With the assistance of Rockwell, theY DESTROY THE FIRST COCOON.
MOX
Judicator, that's two down. We're moving on number three now.
TURMALIS
You have my sincere thanks, Commander. We will prepare for our assault.
THE THIRD COCOON DIES.
KHRILLIAN
Commander, though the psi cocoons have been destroyed, our observers report that the field has merely diminished, not abated. It appears the field is being maintained by a Terran structure.

111.
MOX
Looks like some of Broker's forces tagged along to support the cocoons. No worries, mate. My boys'll take care of it.
A squadron of marines moves up, but is swiftly slaughtered by a sniper.
ROCKWELL
What the hell was that?
HALEY
Trent...
MOX
There's no way we're gonna be able to make it in there with Trench sniping at our forces. Not without taking some heavy losses.
ROCKWELL
Rockwell hates to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like their forces are coming this way.
MOX
When it rains, it pours...
MOLOCH
Judicator, I believe that stealth is required. With their attention focused on Commander Mox, I can slip in and destroy the dampening field.
TurMALIS
This feels too familiar, Moloch. We nearly lost you the last time you slipped off alone.
MOLOCH
This is true. But we have little choice.

112.
HalEY
I don't know what happened last time, but this time he'll have backup.
KHRILLIAN
Hmm?
HALEY
I'm going with Moloch. Trent is in there.
TurmALIS
I apologize, Terran, but this matter--
MoLOCH
I accept.
KhRILLIAN
Moloch?
MOLOCH
(Ignoring various disagreements)
I, too, know the thirst for vengeance. Terran, we shall travel together.
New objective: Survive for 10 minutes as the Combine forces supporting the psi cocoons assault your base. When the countdown ends, Haley appears on the rooftop with Trench.
HALEY
Trent.
Trench turns and faces her, raising his rifle.
HALEY
It's me, Trent. Haley.
Trench raises his rifle and shoots. Haley dodges.
HaLEY
Seriously, Trent? You comb the galaxy for me just for this?
Trent shoots again.

113.
HalEY
This is ridiculous.
Haley gets close to him. He raises the rifle but hesitates.
Haley
That's right, Trent. It's just me. Come on.
TreNCH
(woozy)
Haley?
HALEY
Yeah, come on, put the rifle down.
TRENCH
I love you, Haley.
HALEY
(heartbroken)
I love you too, Trent.
Trench throws himself from the roof. Moments later, Moloch destroys the building maintaining the dampening field.
MOLOCH
Judicator, the dampening field should be neutralized.
KhRILLIAN
Our observers confirm it. The way is clear.
THE PROTOSS FLEET APPEARS AND STARTS OBLITERATING THE REMAINING ZERG AND TERRAN FORCES.
TurmALIS
Commander, thank you for your assistance. The conclusion of this matter falls to the Protoss.
Mox
Roger that, mate. We're here if you need backup.

114.
3-9B: Eyes of the beholder part 2
Pan across the forces arrayed against our heroes, arrayed through a Protoss city. We should lay it out like an actual city, with blocks, roads, etc.
Turmalis
It shakes me to see this once-great city so desecrated.
Grey 3 (High Templar Male)
This is but a prologue to the horror Sevorak would bring to all Protoss.
TurMALIS
Then we must move quickly, before Nannoth/Taeradun can revive him.
KHRILLIAN
Judicator, that may be quite difficult.
Pan to a Titan.
TURMALIS
What is that!?
KHRILLIAN
Our observers report these creatures to be larger than any Zerg previously seen. I fear our strongest weapons will do little but annoy them.
Grey 2 (Dark Templar Male)
The Eyes have truly begun to stir.
Moloch
Judicator, there are many paths through Scion. I recommend that we travel the alleys and neighborhoods as much as we can, those roads should be too narrow to allow pursuit.

115.
KHRILLIAN
Judicator! I have just received word that a large force of Protoss and Zerg have entered Aiur's orbit and are on a direct attack course towards us! There are far too many for us to defeat.
Turmalis
This truly is a dark day. Moloch, you must lead our forces through Scion. Khrillian and I will return to orbit and direct the battle against Nannoth/Taeradun's fleets. Should we fail, it will fall to you to defeat the Archon.
MOLOCH
Judicator, I once again salute your bravery. I look forward to standing by your side when we strike him down.
Grey 1 (Dark Templar Female)
We shall prepare ourselves for the final battle. En Taro Jepok, comrades.
MoLOCH
En Taro Jepok!
Transition to the first base.
KHRILLIAN
Moloch, we have engaged Nannoth/Taeradun's forces. The battle is fierce, but we are holding for now.
MOLOCH
Thank you, old friend. My assault will be swift.
KHRILLIAN
The full might of Antioch's forces are at your disposal. However, draw on them wisely! Any air forces you summon will weaken our defenses here.

116.
After the Protoss take the first island, Zethys contacts Moloch. There are two possible conversations, depending on whether Moloch killed him in 3-4:
If so:
ZeTHYS
PROTOSS.
MOLOCH
Zethys. You live again.
ZETHYS
SUCH PAIN. TEMPLAR PROMISED.
MOLOCH
Indeed, I swore to end your mockery of a life. When I strike down Nannoth/Taearadun, you will be free.
If Moloch did not kill him.
ZETHYS
LIAR.
MoLOCH
Monster. I am unsurprised to find you here.
ZETHYS
FREE ME.
MOLOCH
When Nannoth/Taeradun has fallen to my blades, I will come for you, monster. Until then, you suffer.
The conversation ends the same way:
ZETHYS
NO! KILL NOW! ZETHYS HELP IF KILL NOW!
MOLOCH
Help how?
ZETHYS
KILL ZETHYS. WEAKEN BROODS.

117.
MOLOCH
We shall see, cerebrate.
As the air forces weaken, Khrillian bugs Moloch. Should have explosion sounds in background.
KhRILLIAN
We've weathered the first wave of scourge and mutalisks, Moloch. I hope your forces have faced less severe opposition?
KhRILLIAN
I am leading a detachment of corsairs to strike at Nannoth/Taeradun's overlords and observers. Hopefully that will allow us to bring our arbiters to bear.
KHRILLIAN
My mission against the detectors was a success, Moloch. Our arbiters' cloaking fields have helped us hold against Nannoth/Taeradun's forces.
KHRILLIAN
Moloch! Our starboard flank has engaged Nannoth/Taeradun's devourers. Our loses are...staggering.
KHRILLIAN
Nannoth/Taeradun's carriers have arrived. Moloch, we are rapidly running out of time.
KHRILLIAN
Our line is collapsing, Moloch. We will not be able to protect your advance against the temple for long.
TuRMALIS
Moloch, our fleet is lost. Khrillian, the Grey, and I are boarding a shuttle now. We will meet you at the temple, assuming that Nannoth/Taeradun's forces do not overwhelm us.

118.
If a titan gets close.
KhRILLIAN
Beware, Moloch, a titan nears your forces!
If the player engages a titan.
KHRILLIAN
Moloch, your forces have engaged a titan! You must withdraw at once!
If the player actually kills a titan...
KHRILLIAN
Moloch, it appears that our observers were incorrect. These titans can be killed. However, the cost is much too high. I recommend you avoid the others.
KHRILLIAN
You have felled a second titan, but time is running short, please focus on the temple!
KHRILLIAN
Moloch, as commander of our ground forces, you have discretion over the battle. However, I must express concern that you insist on combatting these titans.
KHRILLIAN
Moloch--your skill in battle is truly unparalleled. You have felled all of the titans. Now, you must focus on reaching the temple!
If non-DT units kill Zethys.
ZetHYS
STUPID PROTOSS. ONLY DARK TEMPLAR CAN KILL ZETHYS.
If non-DT units kill Zethys again.

119.
ZETHYS
NO! BRING DARK TEMPLAR!
A third time.
ZETHYS
WHY DO YOU TORTURE ZETHYS?
MoLOCH
You will pay for the Protoss blood on your hands, monster.
Every time after that
ZETHYS
(Screams incomprehensibly.)
If Moloch does kill Zethys.
ZETHYS
ZETHYS IS FREEEEE.
MolOCH
I release you, creature. Your master will be next.
When the Protoss have reached the final island.
MOLOCH
Judicator, behind this door stands perhaps the greatest foe the Protoss have ever known. We cannot know the horrors he may have wrought within.
TuRMALIS
Whatever the horrors, I stand ready, Moloch.
KHRILLIAN
As do I.
Grey 4 (High Templar Female)
As do we all.
Moloch
Very well. The time for vengeance is at hand!

120.
3-9C: Eyes of the Beholder part 3
MolOCH
TAERADUN! Stand and face us.
Nannoth/Taeradun
In some ways, it is amusing. Finding my master's body was nearly as challenging as the eyes.
TurMALIS
This ends, Archon.
Nannoth/Taeradun
This is merely the beginning, Judicator. Once I have killed you, I will raise Sevorak from the grave.
MOLOCH
Madness.
KhrILLIAN
Why Sevorak? You have the Eyes!
Nannoth/Taeradun
He is their master. Only for him will they reveal their true power.
Grey 1 (Dark Templar Female)
No.
Nannoth/Taeradun
What?
Grey 2 (Dark Templar Male)
No.
Grey 3 (High Templar Male)
It will not come to pass.
Grey 4 (High Templar Female)
We are the Grey. Your weapons hold no use against us.
Nannoth/Taeradun
I see now. These cohorts you bring, I recognize them. More than once we spilled blood together in this realm of madness. I pity you; blessed by the Eyes, but leashed by these arrogant fools. Once the master is with us once more, you shall be released from your shackles. Behold, the purity that awaits us all!

121.
The eyes do...something...and the world twists and turns red. Evil energy crackles over our heroes.
KhriLLIAN
What is this power?
Nannoth/Taeradun
(chuckling)
Did you think I selected this site merely for its symbolism? We stand at the very place where Khas first birthed the khala.
NaNNOTH/Taeradun
As Khas once brought order to our kind, so shall the master do! Our ancestors are the first to submit their might to the master's cause! Their legacy will manifest upon us!
MoLOCH
(Screams in agony)
No! We cannot fail now!
NANNOTH/Taeradun
See how reality reshapes around us, Moloch. Every soul will finally be at ease! You resist in ignorance, but once the master lays the great silence upon us all, you will finally understand and see what I am able to see. Our cleansing is at hand!
Grey 3 (High Templar Male)
We shall not.
Grey 2 (Dark Templar Male)
Archon! Your tricks hold no power against us.

122.
NanNOTH/Taeradun
This is no trickery, brother. You taint the blessing placed upon you by resisting this glimpse of the future. But the Eyes themselves shall amend your mistakes. Come forward warriors! Embrace eternity!
Grey 4 (High Templar Female)
Your madness knows no bounds, Archon! This stops here!
Grey 1 (Dark Templar Female)
Judicator, we will disable the Eyes. When they have fallen, you must strike this Archon down!
Boss fight should be awesome somehow. The Grey each double-team an eye [hey, look at that parallelism]. The heroes face Nannoth/Taeradun.
Bonus Objective: Defeat N/T in a certain amount of time or something.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Bah! Your abominations may have disabled the Eyes, but it matters not! Without their protection, you will be no match for my powers!
Turmalis
(Centering himself)
Silence! Your transgressions end here, Archon.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Transgressions? TRANSGRESSIONS?! Look around you, Judicator. Can't you see how far our people have fallen? They are consumed with jealousy, with rage! They rampage across the galaxy like children--warring with every being they find. This is not PURITY--this is failure.
Nannoth/Taeradun
The Eyes have shown me the truth, children. When my master is reborn, he will reach into the Khala itself! The Eyes will pour through him and our people will finally be pure.

123.
Khrillian
We have seen Laurioch's journal, Taeradun. Moloch lived the horrors Sevorak wrought. You call it purity? We can see what it truly is--madness.
Moloch
Prepare to die, Archon.
Nannoth/taeradun
Death? Hah. By the time I am finished with you, you will wish I had killed you.
Phase 1: N/T uses his powers. See bottom for generalized chat message.
Phase 2: Nightmare Kuldarus
Nannoth/Taeradun
You truly are formidable, warriors. But how can you possibly think you can defeat me. Have you forgotten all those who have come before you?
Special effect of N/T summoning nightmare Kuldarus.
KuldarUS
Moloch!
MoLOCH
Kuldarus! Impossible.
KULDARUS
No, it is I! I have seen Purity and been reborn!
MOLOCH
This is a trick! You will be avenged, my friend!

124.
KULDARUS
Avenged? You failed me. Just as you have failed so many times. Stand down.
Moloch
No. I will not be deceived. Begone, phantom!
They defeat Kuldarus.
MoLOCH
If this was truly you, my friend, I apologize. I cannot allow the Archon to succeed.
Phase 3: Return of N/T
Nannoth/Taeradun
And so you fail again, Moloch! You have consigned Kuldarus to oblivion, but it matters not--you will soon join him!
N/T animates a statue.
NANNOTH/TAERADUN
Behold, the stones themselves rise against you!
#2
NANNOTH/TAERADUN
Rise, statue, and serve me!

125.
Phase 4: Nightmare Laurioch
Nannoth/Taeradun
So many have fallen to the Eyes! Shall I show you another purified being?
Special effects: spawn Laurioch
KhRILLIAN
No! How can this be? Laurioch did not fall in battle against the Eyes!
LAURIOCH
Of course not, my student! I died in peace with the sacrifice Jepok asked of me. We labored so long in the creation of the Grey, but it was only in death that I found purity!
KHRILLIAN
This is another trick!
LAURIOCH
A trick? No, nor was the spirit of Kuldarus, may he rest in purity. You have seen my journal, Khrillian--you know what I have seen. Please, do not fight.
KHRILLIAN
I cannot do that. Whatever you are, you are not my master.
When Laurioch is defeated.
KHRILLIAN
Farewell, master. It was good to see you, even like this.
Phase 5: N/T Part 2
Nannoth/Taeradun
How touching. Do you celebrate the death of each of your friends? I know I will celebrate yours.

126.
N/T Summons a wall of fire.
NANNOTH/Taeradun
I will burn the impurity from you! Run away, if you must, but you cannot escape me.
More walls of fire.
Nannoth/Taeradun
Burn, heretics!
Phase 6: Khorun and nurohk
Nannoth/Taeradun
Judicator, did you think I had forgotten you? I have something special.
Special effect: spawn Khorun and Nurohk
Khorun
Judicator!
TuRMALIS
Khorun! Nurohk!
NUrohk
Judicator--you were like a father to us. Please, rejoin us.
TURMALIS
I would give anything to make it so, my friends, but I know what this is. Our discussion ends now.
Khorun actives My Brother's Keeper.
Khorun
Stay away from my brother! I will not fail him again!
Nurohk actives supercharge.
Nurohk
Khorun, stay close. I have overcharged my power core and directed it to you.
Khorun falls.

127.
TurmaLIS
Rest, my friend. I assure you, you have not failed your brother.
Nurohk falls.
TuRMALIS
Goodbye, brave warrior. This will be the last time you fall, I promise.
Phase 7: final n/t fight
NANNOTH/Taeradun
You have wasted enough of my time. You are not worthy of Purity. DIE!
N/T summons statues and waves of fire and uses his abilities. Finally, N/T is brought down.
NannOTH/Taeradun
ENOUGH! BE CLEANSED!
N/T starts gathering power and shoots a beam. Khrillian dashes forward and deflects it to Turmalis. Turmalis turns it into badass chain lightning that knocks N/T up into the air.
NannOTH/Taeradun
No! Master, protect me!
Moloch goes into Omnislash mode as a finale, delivering blows between lines.
MoLOCH
I have waited centuries for this, Archon!
(Boom)
So many have paid for your crimes...
(Boom)
with exile,
(Boom)
with death,
(Boom)
with heartbreak.
(Boom)
I strike this blow for all of them. Your terror ends!
(Biggest Boom)

3-10 Epilogue: Coda
The heroes stand together by grave markers, Firefly-style.
Turmalis
Today we stand victorious. But at what cost? We were brought here by centuries of mistrust and lies. I fear that none of us shall ever be the same.
KhRILLIAN
Well said, Judicator. The scars of this war will be borne for many generations.
Mox
So, what now, mates?
KHRILLIAN
The Eyes remain a threat, and none of us possess the power of Jepok to craft another generation of Grey.
MoLOCH
Then the cycle repeats itself.
RockWELL
Why is Rockwell always surrounded by candy-asses?
MoLOCH
Excuse me?
ROCKWELL
Rockwell sees it like this: we just beat the bad guy. It's time to celebrate. We deal with the Eyes if we have to.
MOLOCH
A charming sentiment, but lacking in forethought. We cannot allow ourselves to be caught unprepared again.
Haley
So... what are you going to do? Burying them didn't work out so well.

129.
General chatter about ideas occurs.
RoCKWELL
Rockwell's tank will get it done.
Mox
How about some fortress or something?
KhrILLIAN
Perhaps another temple?
MolOCH
We cannot build another temple.
Turmalis cuts through the chatter.
TurMALIS
I will take them.
KhRILLIAN
Judicator?
TURMALIS
I have seen too much to return to the fold now. Too much betrayal, too many secrets. I will take the Eyes into the void. It is what should have been the first time.
MolOCH
And then what? What if the Eyes overtake you?
TURMALIS
I assume they will. Once I reach the darkness between the stars, I will disable my vessel. And then I will wait for the void to take me.
MolOCH
Judicator, that could be centuries.
TURMALIS
So it could.
Awkward pause. People shift about.

130.
MOLOCH
I salute you, Judicator. Few would have your strength.
TURMALIS
Farewell, comrades. I must leave before the Eyes recover.
Turmalis enters his Arbiter and departs.
Mox
Time for me to pack up, too, mates. I've got a business to rebuild.
ROcKWELL
Rockwell thinks you could use some backup, Chuckie. You're not so good at watching your own back.
MOX
Heh. That's about right. Alright General, you're hired.
They head out. Only Khrillian, Moloch, and Haley remain.
KhRILLIAN
You, too, are leaving, Moloch?
MoLOCH
Insightful as always, my friend.
HaLEY
Where are you going?
MOLOCH
I am unsure. I have spent centuries dreaming of this day. Now that it has come...
HALEY
I get it. Let's go together.
MOLOCH
Why?
HALEY
I've got nowhere else to go.
(Mimics Moloch's voice)
"We shall travel together," remember?

131.
KhRILLIAN
It has a certain poetry to it.
MoLOCH
And you, my friend?
KhRILLIAN
It seems that my place is to stay. As Laurioch did before, I will record these events and pass them to my successor.
MOLOCH
We will meet again, my friend.
KHRILLIAN
Of that I have no doubt.
Roll credits.
Otional Scene: Really Good ending
The player has succeeded at all optional objectives.
Zoom in from black to a tiny point and into Turmalis's Arbiter. He sits in meditation as the eyes hover around him, jabbing at him. Then, one by one, they fall to the floor.
Optional scene: REALLy bad ending
The player fails all optional objectives and some hidden extra failure points.
It’s pitch black.
And Turmalis is screaming.
Over and over.
And we start zooming in on this tiny point until we see that it’s an arbiter.
And we pass inside and he’s screaming and zoom in on his face and right then he stops and he and the eyes all glow some evil color.
